Delicious pollo asado. I went during the morning. I was on a road trip and extremely hungry and pulled in their for breakfast and they were very quick. I had a young male server, don't recall his name but he was very fast courteous and polite.
This is hands down the worst mexican food ive ever had in my entire life. Was served cheese enchiladas with con carne sauce after I asked for red sauce, eh no biggie I was hungry. After a couple bites I realized I was getting a very funky taste in my mouth, I dissect the enchilada and come to find out the cheese on the inside was completely rotten. The smell was god awful and the waiter told me it was the spices they used LOL. Anyways just screw this place, I will never go here and will make sure anyone I know never gets that desperate to go here EVER again. Place is absolute trash.
Horrible, salty processed food came straight from the microwave still cold…Food was like eating cardboard. Iwould pass on this one.
Ate dinner here with family and loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was great, I had the enchilada dinner and the portions were huge. The chips and salsa were very good as well. Would definitely return if ever in the area again.
This restaurant used to have great food.. but no more!! They are rude when you walk in.. the food sure is not what it once was.. my husband & I sure did not enjoy the food today or previously the last year of longer! We just will not be returning after today for sure no matter how hungry we are!! We will go over to the Burger King! Much better food!! So long El Rio Mexican Restaurant in Boerne!!?
Was seated quickly. Received chips and salsa momentarily. Very kind server took our orders and answered our questions. We received our meal very timely and we were a table of ten!
Couldn't chew my fajita meat and the puffy taco shells were so greasy that you couldn't even pick them up. They were quick to charge 8 dollars for these "upgrades" though, and couldn't fathom that removing those charges would be the right thing to do.These guys couldn't care less about quality or making their customers happy. Terrible ownership and poor quality food.
Great customer service and hospitality. Friendly! Great price in meals.The coffee is also pretty for regular brew.Don't be fooled by outside appearance the inside is cute little cafe.
We eat at El rio pretty often. Cheese enchiladas are pretty perfect. They are really prompt on take out orders to. Could come down in price a little but it's worth spending the money for decent food. Try it for sure.
This is the second time eating at El Rio. I didn't write a review before because the visit wasn't either good or bad. Just middle of the road. This experience was not the greatest. For one, my brother in law requested their guacamole sauce and they brought him plain guacamole. When he explained the waitress just looked at him disappointed and didn't offer to correct the situation. They still charged us $8.99 for that guacamole. I had the the flautas plate. They were fine, just not great. My brother in law had the beef enchiladas. Again fine, just not great. For the prices El Rio charges, we hoped the food would be excellent. Now my husband had the cheese burger and he said it was good. I don't know if the tortillas were homemade,but they did not taste like it. I don't believe I would return to El Rios in the future for Mexican food. If I have to return there to meet my brother in law, I'll probably just order a burger.
