If you have not tried Compadres, you are missing out. I stick to my favorite dish (Tacos al Carbon) because the meat just melts in your mouth and is so flavorful. Five of us went there for lunch today. We all had something different, and everybody loved their food. The portions are very generous. I actually took home 1/2 of my meal. And, one of the guys, couldn't finish his either. One word of advice... go early! It's a popular place to eat for lunch here in Boerne and when Chef runs out of food for the day, that's it!
Love the coziness, warmth and the soul it has. The staff radiate love and reflect what’s so strong about our South Texas culture of community, giving of yourself before taking, service to greater causes, hard work, family and oh yah.. GREAT FOOD! We love thehomage paid to keeping it real and straight forward. Nothing ostentatious, few sides, Coke in a bottle, awesome pickled onions, butter-tender meats. Takes you back in time but then you realize this is now and it makes you realize things are still good. God bless places like Compadres.
I gave 3 stars, because I read they're a veteran and I've read the great reviews, but have not been able to get in yet. It's always closed by the time I get there with a sign saying they sold out. I've tried 3 times. I won't be trying it again. If you sell out every day, maybe make more? Driving from a long way to eat here will probably result in finding somewhere else.
The best Tex mex in boerne, even when they close before I get there. Highly recommend.
We drove in from Pleasanton just to come try this place out. It was worth the drive! Everything was DELICIOUS!!! We will be back!!
They could improve by cleaning the grill before cooking fresh food on it. Meat had greasy grill marks and weird taste, my whole family got sick from eating here.
Food is great. I've had most of the menu. Owners are great people. Sometimes it's slammed and other times they sell out all together so just be aware.
Go early for lunch since as the sign indicates “they sell out”. Don’t miss the smoked fajita meat. Awesome. This is a Texas minded veteran owned business.
great food. Highly recommend the beef. Very unique take on fajita (almost a mix of BBQ and fajita).. Tea could be better (community tea). Nice small-town feeling. Definitely a place to visit
Absolutely delicious food and friendly staff we will be back!
