Really good barbecue and cool authentic Texas environment. We went on a Friday and saw a live acoustic country music show, which was excellent! The brisket, ribs, and sausage were all great and the sides and desserts were pretty good as well. Definitely try the sopapilla cheesecake! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is the price. For the BBQ tray in my picture in addition to a few sides, drinks, and nachos it cost me over $90 for three of us to eat, plus whatever we tipped. If that doesn't bother you, this place is definitely worth a try, especially during one of their live shows.EDIT: Changed this to a five because I attended Schoepf's Backyard 4th of July party, and this place is an awesome local venue that is absolutely worth checking out. They have exceptional BBQ and live music shows often. I just moved to the area and will frequent this place often.

Absolutely amazing food. Extremely friendly employees. This place cannot get enough credit that I can offer. Great pricing for some real barbecue. We spent about 90 bucks to feed two adults our 10-year-old boy, and 3-year-old boy our eyes were bigger than our stomach we ended up taking the rest of it home and have plenty for dinner. We end up getting a pound and a half of moist brisket, two jalapeno and cheese sausage links, a stuffed jalapeno popper, large macaroni and cheese, medium beans, small cheesy potatoes, small green beans, two slices of cheese and drink for us .It was amazing that you can actually taste the meat and not overpowered with seasonings or spices. Everything was served to perfection. First time coming here and we will be coming back for more.

I wish I could say that I loved the brisket. I’ve had better Texas barbecue. The problem is, this place was so hyped up by ppl who have previously tried it. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying for the price it costs, I’d rather have the brisket sandwich at Buccees. The only thing I enjoyed was the sopapilla cheesecake. Prices are truly exacerbated here. It’s good quality meat, it’s just that the flavor doesn’t wow. Wish it did though. Ambiance is nice Texas decor.

We travel a lot between SA and DFW and are always looking for a nice place to eat besides fast food and we are glad we found this gem. The moist brisket was amazing and we do love a good brisket. They had tons of sides, my favorite was the green beans. The wife liked their Mac and cheese, can’t wait to try the others. Also, the restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. We will definitely stop by next time we are passing through.

First timer. Had a sample of the brisket and it was AMAZING! Ended up having the Brisket Burrito and my friend had the Street Tacos. It was all delicious. The Burrito is huge and generous and definitely would be enough to shared. The tacos looked like it was food fit for a toddler and although my friend was fine with it, I thought it was a rip off in comparison to the burrito - and difference in cost was $1!! Then decided to try the Soppappilla Cheesecake and was a bit shocked to pay $7.95 for a piece! What??? Very overpriced for something so easy to make! My friend and I shared the dessert and it was delicious - just like everything else. Visited without checking reviews prior. Would go back for a splurge and just for the meat.

Went here with my dad and enjoyed so much about our experience. The concept of having a separate room for meat before you get to the sides was a nice touch. Staff was very friendly. Seating wasn’t too hard to find, although we did go mid-afternoon on a Sunday so lower crowds. The food was very solid quality all-around, especially the jalapeño cheese sausage and potato salad. Very much looking forward to going back sometime!

Visited Schoepf's on our way back to Austin from Mother Neff Park. What a great find. Super friendly staff, great restaurant space. The brisket was so moist. The ribs and quail were excellent. The standout for us was the variety and quality of sides and desserts - so many choices. We went with the potatoes, green beans, slaw, and street corn and tres leches. Looking forward to trying some other menu items.

I loved the food. First time here but not my last. I am planning coming again and again. I ordered the brisket tacos, turkey sandwich , street corn. So so good ?

I'm really upset, wishing I would have paid more attention!!! I showed up at 7 01 pm they closed at 7. They said come in will get you some dinner. We'll 100 dollars later for two people I'm still hungry they had given us the tail end of meets. BAD BUSINESS I'll never go back. What we eat was excellent.

I have eaten here many times, I was very disappointed tonight. Walked in to the “meat cutting room” and ordered extra lean brisket. The little cutter dude said that the brisket is pre-cut and you have to pay for it, fat on, before he trims it. I’ve lived in Texas all my life and that’s a first! Never heard of paying for fat that you don’t want. They are charging $32 a pound for fatty brisket.I’ll never come back. It’s a shame that a once good BBQ place started this ridiculous policy. As per the “owners” response …I did not ask for the “bark” to be trimmed I like the burnt smoked edge, I know the difference between FAT and a burnt smoked edge. I ASKED FOR LEAN BRISKET NOT WITH WHITE GREASY FAT ON IT. If I order lean brisket, I don’t want to pay for the FAT.Your mark up is high enough.90 percent of your response had absolutely nothing to do with my complaint.
