Never will I go back. On 02/06 we visited the location in Belton. The food and service were horrendous. I payed way to much for their double meat plate that consisted of two three inch long ribs and two pieces of fat (brisket) the same length. It was some of the worst BBQ I have ever eaten. There were three tables around us including ours ,all with the same waitress that never received or were even offered the fresh rolls that come with their meals. The food is awful, the portions are small, the plates expensive and the wait staff is forgetful and untimely. Avoid Avoid Avoid.
For Belton, I think this was delicious. The issue is, I'm spoiled with food choices and so what I think is good is region specific. With that, here's what I'll say....The staff was incredible, everyone was super nice and smiling which makes food taste better imo.The white wings weren't wings at all, but more a giant chicken nugget (from a real breast) with buttercheese I'm the center, wrapped in bacon. Yes.The fried okra is probably my favorite thing on the menu so far, with the cheese curds coming in a close second. I was a bit disappointed in the macaroni and the ribs, but this is where I think it's regional. Who am I to disagree with a person who LOVES the macaroni? If someone's only had that and a few other types of macaroni, then the limited exposure would mean it's good... To them. I feel like, after having probably 250 different types of macaroni in my life, this is low on the list. Not nasty, just not memorable to me. Albeit, one dish and one opinion does not make a bad restaurant. Plus it's a bbq place and while sides are important, the meat is what matters.I forgot to grab the sauce for the ribs!!! You don't need sauce for Texas BBQ to be great, however I like trying it because it can enhance the meal and bring new flavors. The restaurant was clean, service was swift and delightful, seating was plentiful.I'd give it a "probably some of the best BBQ around there" rating, but with limited exposure and plans to [email protected] approved, for now
Good food and fast and friendly service.
There food is great I love the deluxe baked potato
Ordered to go. Catfish was not seasoned at all and found a hair underneath the food in my plate. Also ordered chicken which was very dry and not seasoned either. The manager was apologetic but no refund offered for the sub par food we received. Avoid going here if you can the food is not worth it.
I am extremely frustrated with Clem’s in Belton. It’s our Go-to place because it’s near our home and church, it’s quick, we love Tabitha and the rest of ladies, the price is fair and the food is tasty.
Good overall flavor and variety. Good atmosphere, and friendly staff, attentiveness understandably depends on how busy it is. Small bar, providing some drink options if you prefer a beer w/ your BBQ. A little different from other Texas BBQ. 1-3 meat plates. House sausage is unique in a good way. Other options like grilled pork chops, and fried catfish. Good selection of southern sides. Fried okra is crisper corn meal breading. Coleslaw is dairy based, and on the fresher side. Large baked potatoes with BBQ topping. I've been there during the week around lunch and it wasn't very busy, but was almost packed for Sunday lunch.
We ordered the family pack, brisket, turkey, and 3 sides. The brisket was awful. The turkey was really good, and the sides were decent. We did not enjoy the food, and won’t be coming back. We will stick with our go to spot in Belton, Schoepf's Bbq.
Great! Brisket a little off taste for me..but everything else was great!
Sorry but not that good, I'm real picky about bbq and well can't go back sorry.
