I walked in. Waited about ten minutes and left because no employee anywhere to be found

This place is AMAZING!! Been here since the 70's & I've been going here since I was a kid/young teen in the 90's-00's. I would play outside while my step-dad Troy would work off his meal in the kitchen for Carmen (RIP)! Amazing place, amazing people, & delicious, affordable food!! Please check it out, support it, & help keep the legacy alive through these trying times!!

Carmen's is just a charming, quaint wonderful little place on the side of the road. The owner is warm and friendly and so hospitable! He makes his own Salsa both green and red, and I could have made a meal on that alone! The place was his Mother's and he keeps it open in her memory. He also uses a lot of her recipes. As someone else said there is seating inside and in a covered screened in area. I got the enchiladas with rice and beans. I loved the rice, cooked perfectly and just enough tomatoes and spices to make it very good. My dinner was wonderful. I am so glad that I stopped! And super affordable!

This place is an awesome little place to have lunch! Very rustic looking. The man there was also amazing. He played a game of chess after we ate lunch. Will definitely be going back! The man and his restaurant are a hidden gem ?

My kind of place. Owner is one man operstionFeels more like going over to a friend's house to eat only you need to pay. Will definitely be back!

Old time feel, complemented with wonderful food and prices. No doubt about, will recommend and return.

Stopped by when I first moved to Temple, was skeptical at first, but took a chance and was most pleasantly surprised. Who highly recommend. As a matter of fact I'm going today for lunch!!!

To Go Review: The place doesn't have the best looks from the outside, but the inside is welcoming and spacious. They have partial outdoor seating as well as a fully inside. The owner was very friendly and helpful. We got the mix plate, with all things pictured for $7.50 total. They have the typical fixings (jalapenos, spicy salsa, onions limes etc) there available to pack for to go, as well as a station with a variety of chips to take as you want. Just keep in mind they stay out in the open so they may be stale. Not a big deal but nice that they offer it anyway. The tostada was tasty, as well as the enchilada, beans and tamale. The taco was basic and the rice was a little on the bland side.Overall, I can't complain because it's a great value.. very worth the price and the owner is very kind, so go support and give them a try!

Outstanding place with friendly owners and great prices. Would highly recommend you try it and don’t worry about the outside appearance. It’s clean and a great place to have lunch or early dinner W-Sa 11-8.

Good food and wonderful people. Absolutly love it.
