Really more 3.5 stars. This place is good but has the potential to be great! More seating needed. Expansion . Food prices are up there but the portions are very generous. Some bbq places that don’t trim their meats will do more chopping up, this place didn’t really do a good job trimming the pork or brisket. It would have made the eating experience a lot better. Mac n cheese off the chain. The rib tips needed to cooked longer to be tender though. I would go back but probably request to have the meat chopped better .
I've been to a lot of BBQ places, but not many soul food BBQ places. It's very different from typical BBQ places. We ordered the 2 Meat & 2 Sides plate (Rib Tips & Brisket, Potato Salad & Coleslaw), Pulled Pork Sandwich, Mac & Cheese, and Collard Greens. Although their prices have gone up from what the menu shows, they give you a lot of food. First time trying rib tips and they were good with fat still on them. I liked the brisket. My favorite side was the potato salad. My family enjoyed their dishes, though the mac & cheese was "spicy" to my younger son due to the pepper. The place is pretty small with an outdoor deck, but I didn't see any tables outside. The staff is pretty friendly. Good experience overall. Glad we tried it.
An $18 plate of jerk chicken with yams/mac that was watered down because of the macaroni. I'd like to think that in southern states most cooks acknowledge that the "Mac & cheese" can literally make or break the whole meal. If they put more effort into it and baked it instead of the cheap, poorly seasoned box macaroni, the whole meal would hit way differently and make you want to come back.
So good worth the waitGreat place to feed the familyFood is made it lovePs gotta have the kool aid too
So first and foremost this place hands down was one of the best BBQ places that I've dined at here in Texas. I've visited Texas on a number of occasions often trying different BBQ and Soulfood, but this place is definitely in the top 3. I'm a very firm believer that the best food isn't at mainstream restaurants, but at "hole in a wall" establishments. This was one of those places! I spoke to the three gentlemen that were in the kitchen and explained that I came all the way from Virginia for some good BBQ. They recommended the spare ribs. Since it was Thursday, they had a special going for ribs and 2 sides. That's exactly what I ordered. I also had them throw in some banana pudding for dessert. When they brought my food out to me, they had to have given me all of 3.5 pounds of food. It was enough for me to eat for lunch, dinner, and have some for the next day. But what topped it off was the banana pudding. Here's a disclaimer, I'm not a violent man by any means, but I almost flipped that table over, ran up to the counter and almost slapped the hell out of the man who made that banana pudding. When I say they made that with love, it was made with love. Hands down the best banana pudding that I've had. I saw the mixed reviews but had to try this place out for myself. It definitely didn't disappoint.
Sure, there are a lot of good BBQ and Soul food restaurants in DFW. But, few of them seem to put as much time and energy into their food as Rosako’s.This is about the fourth time I’ve eaten at Rosako’s and it’s never let me down. Every side from the Collard Greens to the Macaroni has been fantastic. The Rib Tips are amazing as are the sandwiches. The Specials are even more delicious but they run out… and for a reason. It’s REAL hard to go wrong with this restaurant and doesn’t hurt the owner and staff are friendly, helpful and fun guys who all seem to enjoy what they do. Love this place!
I found this place by accident one day. I have had multiple items on the menu and am always offered something to try fresh off the smoker to sample. Great customer service and owner is a veteran. I absolutely love the pulled pork sandwich and can never find another like it. Give this place a try… your welcome in advance!!
I would not return here . Very very disappointed in this place. Food was horrible. Ordered 2 meat plate . Sausage was cold . And the Mac and cheese for sure stay away . Only good thing on my plate that was good was the baked beans ? . No fountain drinks . Kool -Aid was trash . And trust me I know my kool-Aid … lol . Waste of money. Can’t wait to see how my dogs react to scrapes lol
I recently purchased a Thanksgiving spread including Turkey and sides. I must say the sides of sweet potatoes, dressing(stuffing), and collard greens were pretty good but the centerpiece of the dinner(TURKEY) left a bad memory. The was turkey was undercooked and yes I did set in oven for an hour at 350 but still was pink with blood. I think the worst part was the rotten turkey neck. The smell was very terrible. We had to finish cooking turkey and salvage what we could because of the smell and juices from the turkey neck that of course infused with the bottom half of the turkey. The money spent was not worth it at all.
Not too impressed with this place. Rib tips were a bit dry, greasy and tasted old. Brisket was cold with lots of gristle. The BBQ sauce tasted as if store bought and gave the meat its flavor. Mac n cheese was dry but had a good flavor. Potato salad was good but a bit on the mustard-y side. We ordered the "I'm Hungry" Platter that feeds 2 to 3 but brisket was not included since they only sell it in 1/2 or 1lb so we had to add that ala-carte for $14.99 which resulted in a $54 bill. For the money we paid, would have been nice to have better options for utensils and plates. Everything was disposable and they only had Styrofoam to-go containers for plates. Only cans or bottles for drink. Don't think we would return.
