Overall a good experience for first time here. Just a Cajun bar food place.I had the fried crawfish tails and a cup of seafood gumbo. The tails were pretty good but I think they forgot the seasoning and seafood for the gumbo. My son had the Cajun burger. Good seasoning just dry.My brother had a bowl of seafood gumbo and side salad. Salad was a meal in itself and his thoughts are the same as mine about gumbo.Service was very good. This isn't a place we will go out of the way for but if in the area, may consider stopping by.
We just went and had a late lunch/early dinner. The chargrilled oysters were wonderful! We are frequent NOLA visitors and chargrilled are hard to find in this area. The fried okra was great as well. We will definitely be back!
Let's get in to this New Restaurant near North Richland Hills. My sister drives pass this place daily on her commute to work. So we've been dying to go. Finally decided to take our children out for dinner on Thursday night. We walked in and got to sit ourselves. We decided to take the patio outside. Our waitress was very cool and nice. The Rockefeller oysters was my favorite. The chargrilled was my sister fav stuffed with spinach and cream cheese. The fried alligator kickers not pictured cause my sister and the kids devoured them before I could take a photo lol. Must've been good right! My daughter wanted the fried pickles they were a bit too salty for us we only had a few it sits in a little puddle of pickle juice too way too salty. I tried a cup of gumbo it needed salt or lil more flav for me. I added some tobasco and salt and pepper. The 3 trio pasta was very good myself and the kids got that my sister tried the pick 3 fried seafood and she enjoyed hers. We all said we would go back and try other options again.
The waiter was kind and accommodating.. I had the Nola platter with catfish oysters and shrimp .. I liked the size of the shrimp but not necessarily the taste ... The whole meal was bland.. it looked delicious but was not .. needed seasoning badly... The cocktail sauce was good though! I also had a hurricane.. it is was pretty okay !
Don't ask me what's on the chicken sandwich! That is what my waitress said to us when we wanted to know what was on the chicken sandwich they sold. I wanted to "love" this place since my family and I frequent any establishment that resembles my home state, Louisiana, but this was not it. The decor from the outside peaked my interest but that was it...poor service throughout the process.**Never asked if diners want more tea before the meal comes, just keep pouring**What made my experience bad1. had to wait 15 minutes in a relatively empty restaurant after the bartender told us to be seated2. multiple servers seated at the bar3. had to ask for refills throughout visit4. bill was tallied up wrongI still gave a 20% tip because we appreciate people and poor service was not going to change who we have decided to be...do better or change the name! New Orleans is known for great service when it comes to food and drink business.
Had the fried oysters and fried crayfish, there were 2 us shared both meals. Both were excellent. Perfectly cooked not over cooked oysters were crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. Crayfish just as ?Just enough batter and not greasy. Met the cook Charles Great personality and knows what he's doing in the kitchen.
This is only the second one star I have ever given. I am certain that no employee or owner had eaten the food. If they had, they would know they are making a mistake. It was some of the worst restaurant food I have ever eaten. The shrimp should not be mushy and mealy in the gumbo. No seasoning or flavor. Where were the fresh onions and celery. Maybe it was just the cook on a Wednesday night because I am sure the slop we ate was not what they intended to serve.
For those who like crawfish they're in season now that was charging $25 for all you can eat from I think 12:00 to 4:00. The food it is just like razzoo's. Razzoo's food is okay to me it's nothing to really write home to Mama about. The shrimp etouffee looks that way because she mixed it in.
I have never made a review before, but now I am. Ordered the boiled shrimp was overcooked sent it back they over-cooked it again it was like beef jerky. Ordered 2 lbs of crab legs at $40 a pound they were over cooked, could not even get the meat out. Waitress didn't bring out crab crackers or wet naps. I had to go find her to get the crab crackers. Ordered a side of dirty rice basically got Uncle Ben's rice with some green onions on top. Cole slaw was like KFC full of mayonnaise terrible. Got the fried catfish and it basically was all batter. Got a Dr. Pepper it taste more like sweet juice. On top of that they were out of the etouffee and the jambalaya which are 2 of the main courses on their menu. End of the night our bill was 148.00. We will not be going back and I will tell everyone how bad their food was.
Please do not go here. Seated ourselves lol. Waited over 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Ordered food & waited another 45 minutes for cold bland food. The waitress asked if she could remove the food off the tab. We agreed to removing. Instead of removing she discounted 2x’s after bringing to their attention. Then charged for 2 orders of oysters. Ticket was corrected. Took another 20 minutes for me to locate a waitress to cash us out. The service is horrible, the food was disgusting. Please don’t insult Louisiana creole cooking with this non flavorful food! Shut this place down now! No stars…
