I have never had a bad meal at Luby’s. Food always great, portions are always generous, and service is always excellent. Great fried chicken.
My sister and I enjoy going to Luby's when I'm visiting my relatives near Beaumont, TX. It is a wonderful dining experience and very affordable. AND salad and dessert come with the meal.
Food was not very hot and baked fish was dry/real firm. We had to ask for napkins, salt and refill. No one checked on us as other tables were being waited on. It wasn't busy either.
I visited this location with my mother, BTW that just had surgery. I ordered the oxtails, so as were paying, I wanted more rice, the manager Eric originally fixed it, so I go get more rice and gravy, as I'm walking back, the manager yells, "rice not free" very nasty tone, so I turn an ask is he speaking to me, first thing is you don't speak to me in that tone, second I can buy all your rice and then some, and third he was racial profiling. Is this how you speak to all the African American people that comes to your establishment? I'm in uniform, I'm a Frontline worker clearly by my uniform but you still spoke to me like I was dirt. I paid for the rice as I was going to do before, Eric the manager made a scene. My mother wanted to leave it all, I chose not too. It sat on my heart though, so I called to ask Eric why he spoke to me in that tone and in that manner, I finally reached him after calling 3 times, 2nd time I asked for corporate number, the 3rd call he immediately answered, so apologetic, he felt bad for what he said, and how he said it, apology not accepted Eric, you meant what you said when you said it and how you said it. Great thing for Eric, I don't live in that city, my parents do. I won't be spending anymore money at Luby's in Beaumont and that's a promise. I also expect him to honor his word in doing something for my parents instead since I don't live there. I was truly appalled by the behavior of a manager, next time don't take out your bad day on other's. I Google Review buddy so all can see..
One lady dishing out food wasn't friendly at all..but others were, and the nice guy who helped us was friendly and professional..pie was delicious..and husband said his chicken fried steak was delicious.
It's been a while since we went here. LuAnn platter is still good. And only $6.99 for Senior Citizens.

Haven’t eaten at Luby’s in years , Food was pretty good .My server Ellis did an amazing job including carrying my tray of food to my table .
We are most of the time pleased with Lucy's. It is an older restaurant but still good homestyle cooking. The service is good and although old, it's still clean
Always good. Waitress is very nice and effective. She works the dining room all alone and gets it done.
