I love their fried gizzard! They season their food. Many of their competitors chicken products are desperate for seasoning.

I haven't been to Hartz in probably 20 years because I preferred Popeyes and Kroger deli chicken. Well neither of their chicken is good anymore so I decided to try Hartz again. It was so bad I could not finish it. The breast meat wasn't white and my husband thought I was upset because I was given a thigh. The meat, especially the wing, was bloody looking and the bones were rancid looking. Neither piece tasted good and made me nauseous. I wish I knew what manufacturers are doing lately to bring us inferior chicken. I guess I will be frying my own. I was going to feed it to my dogs but changed my mind.
This place ( Hartz Chicken on Alexander 146) had old dried up food, I mean all of it. They didn't put more rolls or any okra out or fresh chicken until the old mess was gone. The fish was old and so dried up it was like eating only batter . On top of it all they took the eatery, condiments, and everything on that particular part of the buffet (coleslaw, pudding, potato salad, ect.) They did this before we were even done eating, and 30 minutes before it was even time to start closing. They were staring at us the whole time trying to make us feel uncomfortable letting us know they were rushing us from the time we sat down at our table. I feel if they planned to close and didn't want us to eat in there they shouldn't have taken our money. I wouldn't be saying anything bad about the place because I enjoy hearts chicken over most chicken places but it was ridiculous. Go to the one on Garth road it's way better. The service, freshness of food, ect.
I just had lunch at your restaurant and I have to tell you I am very disappointed. I have been eating at Hartz Chicken since the 80's and yours is by far the worst I have eaten. The liver was over cooked, the fish was a pale color in the center and tasted like it had soaked in grease. The thigh I ate well I am just disappointed. I paid 11.90 for the buffet and now I need to eat and will have to spend another 10. bucks to eat. Unhappy customer
The food is always fresh! And the staff are amazing!
This PLACE!!!! HAS SOME OF THE BEST TASTING CHICKEN, FRIED, OR SMOORHERED, BEST TASTING FISH, n GIZZERS.The rest of the food is good too, but these that I mentioned above, are my FAVORITES.Keep Up The AWESOME JOS you guys.
