Our waitress was terrible to say the least. She missed all of the basic requirements in the service industry. Never smiled, never checked on us, took forever to bring us our drinks, we had to flag her down if we needed drink refills. I know the bar wasnât backed up because the tables next to us with other servers were getting their orders taken and drinks before we even got checked on. Our food came before drinks. That says it all⦠Luckily itâs not our first time at Zanzibar so we wonât hold her service against the establishment.
Beautiful, breezy early evening date with drinks before we started our night. Great vibe & service was excellent.
Great location and vibe but be prepared to sweat if you are there before sunset! Plenty of ceiling fans but far too high up. Witnessed various people with drenched shirts. Staff were super friendly, food was delicious, music was great, amazing vibe, drinks were strong and great. Really only issue was the heat but then again thatâs to be expected.

the drinks were great as long as you donât mind waiting 30 minutes after you order them to actually receive them while they sit on the bar waiting for your waiter to actually bring them to you! and after you wait 30 minutes for that wait about another 20-30 min for your waiter to ever show back around so you can yell him down to take a food order while he stands around staring at his phone with his leg propped up on the bar. food was delicious though! highly recommend trying. as long as you donât mind waiting and your waiter.
The waitress did not come speak to us for 20 min after we ordered drinks, we could not remove the chili from one of their speciality cocktails because they are remade, and very limited good food options.
Drinks were mediocre at best and way overpriced for what they were. Service was rude and terrible and the atmosphere was cookie cutter and tacky.
Meh. Drinks were the best part of the experience. Place was pretty empty when we arrived at 6:30 (weekday). We had a reservation, but were seated in what is clearly the less desirable seating area - lacks all the view and ambience present on the other side, which was nowhere near capacity. It was oppressively hot despite the fans above, the lounge seating looks nice but isnât practical for the temperature (no airflow, too deep etc). Food was good value, but nothing wowed us - drinks were cute tiki style, but all very sweet. Service was disengaged, pretty slow. Itâs probably a good option for a post work happy hour with friends, but I wouldnât take anyone there Iâm trying to give a good impression of Austin.
BEST VIBES EVER. Loved this place. We didn't have any food, just cocktails, but were not disappointed. It was super hot that day, but with the breeze and the fans it felt pretty nice!
Always such an amazing experience at Zanzibar. The drinks are strong, absolutely delicious, and so is the food. One of the best bars in Austin, TX!
