Just visited for the first time yesterday as I didn't know this place existed even though I've walked by many times.Wow I'm so glad I did! I got the vegan platter and it was so freaking good. The rice had an excellent sauce, the greens were SO flavorful, and the beans were perfectly cooked. The plantains were a nice slightly sweet contrast to the spicy/savory of the rest of the platter and the fried bread were perfectly cooked without being too greasy. There was also plenty of food - I was able to make two solid meals from it.Super friendly service and a very chill atmosphere. There were some folks doing a bit of singing with a mic as well that was great to listen to while I was waiting.10/10 will be going back

Wow! The meal was so delicious! We had the rice and two veggies plate (get the spinach, it’ll blow your mind) and the fried black eyed peas and the fried plantains. Everything was really tasty and 100% vegan. 10/10 recommended

Wasota Vegan Cuisine is one of the few places in Austin that you can honestly taste the traditional flavors in the food. To be somewhere that is always changing like Austin , it is a great feeling to be able to enjoy an authentic, fresh, and consistently flavorful food joint. As I was eating my dinner, the owner or staff member checked up on me twice. Something unique for a food truck. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service provided at this establishment and feel so proud as a local austinite to recommend this food to anyone looking for more authenticity in their life.

Wasota is the BEST food truck in Austin. The servings are big for such a good price and the dude working is always so sweet. Super flavorful :) ily wasota

This place is amazing! The food is so flavorful and delicious. The owner is so nice and easygoing. The food is authentic and you get a TON of it so it's definitely worth it. And you can choose the spice level depending on your taste. It's an Austin gem and I want to keep going back for the spinach and blackeyed peas. Give it a try to expand from your usual take out food and to support a local black business ❤️

Confort food at its best. Authentic Vegan African Cuisine for sure. Big portions. Best plantains are served here. The Vegan platter is always my first choice. Thank you for all you do.

Vegan + Flavourful + Nigerian food!? What’s not to love?Unfortunately Google Maps routes to its previous location although the correct location is listed so triple check before you head out. Hopefully Google fixes this issue soon.

Did not disappoint. Food is flavorful and can’t wait to get a plate or two again!☺️

might be my favorite place to eat in austin, if not it’s a close second! definitely my fave comfort food. slowly making my way through the menu, so far my top picks are the akara, spinach, and plantain. portions are generous, and the food is filling!note: they WERE located in possum park, but are currently on the east side! check their facebook for the address!

A forkful of Wasota's spicy jollof, black-eyed peas, and spinach is perfection! And the side order of plantain is always generous. 10/10 would recommend!
