Came for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after nearby 1st option had a decent wait and not knowing anything about this place other than it was somewhat close and had good reviews. It was a pleasant surprise. It seems somewhat hidden on the backside of a building with an option for outdoor dining under a pergola in front, but it's way too hot in Austin in July to do that. Going inside it was somewhat small and dark, but with white tablecloth on the tables. We were seated promptly and the service was courteous and kept our drinks and chips & salsa filled. The salsa isn't chunky, but it does have a good kick of spice to it. The only knock was that it seemed to take a bit to receive our food as we went through a couple baskets of chips and salsa and were into a third before our meals arrived. Wife did Emma's Choice ($11), which included a choice of puffy taco [kind of like a chalupa] with choice of enchilada along with brown rice and beans. She said she liked it. Daughter ordered a Taco Salad ($12) that came in a crispy tortilla bowl with spicy tofu and queso. She was a fan. Son ordered Pombazo ($10), which was an impressive looking sandwich that was dipped in guajillo sauce and had beans, sausage, potato, and cotija, and came with a side salad. Surprisingly, he said it just tasted OK. I chose Calabacitas ($11), which had a mix of squash, poblano, corn, onion, epazote, queso fresco, brown rice, and charro beans. It came with tortillas that I used to make tacos with. I very much enjoyed it and would order it again. Overall, pretty good food at reasonable prices. Glad we stumbled across this place.

Great place. We didn't get a seat outside because the available tables were not fully shaded. The food (1 spinach/mushroom and 1 shrimp enchilada plate) was fantastic and so was my pricly pear margarita on the rocks , no salt!

Nicest staff ever. Came in and just wanted something quick to go. The host kindly suggested some tacos. I ordered from the front menu the fajita tacos. The menu I ordered from listed them at $12. When I went to the back the nicest lady took my order but charged $14. When I mentioned the discrepancy she said they had just increased prices - inflation, understandably. But she honored the price of $12. I just gave them extra tip with the difference because that was awesome customer service. She then popped her head out and asked if I wanted to include chips and salsa with the order. I appreciated the thoughtfulness. Thank you for the great experience Vivo!

We went to the Vivo Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Vivo’s is a TexMex Restaurant on the north side of Austin. We were seated outside, as it was a nice evening. Chips and salsa were quickly brought out, it was accompanied with a cheese dip. We had their chicken enchiladas and a fiesta salad with grilled chicken. We had an enjoyable time there.

So far my favorite chips and salsa place! The food and the drinks are great as well and reasonably priced. I got the four mini tacos and they were great when you put the sauce on them. There are a good amount of margarita options and they taste amazing! Highly recommend the margaritas here.

Surprisingly good food and drinks. Nachos were actually some of the best I've had in years. Crispy, light chips and all the toppings. Everything was great. Especially liked the outdoor seating area and lights at night.

Excellent food, nice ambience…Tried Mexican Martini & Steak Jalisco and both were excellent. If you like spicy food, ask for the green sauce…it was superb spicy!!

Soup of the day Tequila!Highlights:•Margaritas•Chips and Salsa•FlanReview: This is where you can catch me celebrating or after a long day at work. Vivo Austin has the best Margaritas that I have tried and they look beautiful. So there was no better way of Celebrating National Margarita Day (2/22) than going to THE SPOT. These Margaritas are refreshing, semisweet, with hints of acidity from the lime and slight burn from the tequila. Can’t wait to come back soon for more drinks, chicken tinga and flan. Caution Drink These Responsibly.Rating: 10/10House Frozen Hibiscus Margarita

Good fish tacos and sandwich. However, the chicken tortillas soup was super salty. I hope it was just that day. Will try again.

Great Tex-Mex, great drinks and great service. The homemade corn tortillas are fantastic. Highly recommend this spot for a solid overall experience.
