Great vibe and killer food! We waited in line for about 10-15m, but the line moved very quickly. Food was ready fast and everything tasted great. The prices were fair, and 2-3 tacos was a good amount of food. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for a casual quick bite at the Domain, you won’t be disappointed!TIP: You can also change/customize the kind of tortilla for each taco. The menu shows a preset tortilla, but you can ask them to change it if you’d like.
We had Velvet Taco 3 times on our 2.5 day trip to Austin and all the tacos were excellent!! They are creative, fun and absolutely delicious. Also, I really loved the Ranch Water! I need this restaurant in my life. Please come to Phoenix!!
Not your typical tacos. Had the tiki taco which was good. Order came up fast too which was good when your hungry late at night.
Love taking everyone that comes to visit to Velvet Taco?!!!The pictures feature a variety that we all ordered. My favorite is the Angus Beef Brisket "12". And the Elote dip,?, believe me, you need it in your life!
Velvet Taco is the Dallas entry into the taco shops servings a demographic looking more creative tacos. Tacos here liberally add ingredients. You'll find toppings and additives that you'd never expect to find on a taco. Prices can get pretty high pretty quickly so don't expect to only pay $5-$7 for a couple of tacos. Explore the menu and try something you've never had.
I have been to both the domain & 6th/Congress locations and they both are amazing! We ordered the “WTF” = weekly taco feature, which was the Orange Shrimp. Honestly, I think it needs to be a permanent option on the menu because it was AMAZING! We also got the fish n’ chips (fan favorite) and the rotisserie chicken! Pretty much all their tacos are to die for, highly recommend for both locals and tourists! ?
Velvet taco is one of the best lunch places you can find. They have a good variety of eccentric tacos and the red Velvet cake is to die for. My personal favorite tacos are the Tikka Masala taco and the Korean Fried Rice taco, paired with a red stripe Jamaican lager. The domain location gets a little busy but the lines move quickly.
Hands down the best tacos we have ever had. We tried the chicken & waffles, shrimp & grits, brisket, Cuban, and picnic tacos. It’s honestly hard to pick a favorite. The flavors were very well balanced and just out of this world. I was worried about how they would do the shrimp and grits so it was a gamble but they fried the grits into little delicious balls and it complimented the shrimp and the sauce exceptionally well. We weren’t huge fans of the brisket taco. There was a lot going on and a bit too much sauce. Wish we lived closer because we would be there weekly.
You wouldn't give it a chance, if you were looking for independent, back street Taco restaurants. And instead, this is phenomenal. I had the best tacos in a long while - maybe ever. Strongly recommended.
