Torchy's quality has dropped over the last few years. There are better taco eateries to patronize in Austin. Taco Deli has managed to maintain the same level of quality at their stores. That haven't expanded as quickly and have remained my go to taqueria.Go for ànd consume, but Taco Deli will one up them constantly. Just one guys opinion.

First time at a Torchy's Tacos. I liked the decor and variety of salsas to try. There was one taco that I really didn't care for, but the other one was fine. Wish they had more vegan options.
Torchy's Tacos has a diverse selection of tacos with cute names to boot. They are reasonable prices. I think they are good but not as good as everyone says they are. If you try the Congress location you will find yourself waiting in a long line for these tacos. These are not worth the bustle of a packed restaurant. If you can find yourself at this location and have a short wait then you won't be disappointed. Try the Fried Chicken and the breakfast tacos.
Tacos at Torchy’s are super delicious! Well sized for the price. The only reason for a 4 star rating instead of 5 would be the tortillas. The best tacos are made with freshly cooked tortillas. The tortillas at Torchy’s appear to be mass produced and are not served hot. The tacos appear to be assembled by putting the fresh ingredients on top of a pre-bought / mass produced tortillas and then served to the customer.
I love Torchy's. My favorite two tacos are the Chicken Fajita and the Baja Shrimp. The green salsa is super creamy and amazing; take some to-go. Also, the QUESO is so good!
First time eating there tonight. Was pretty good. Service was the best. Very friendly when placing the order. My tacos were good too. Lots of single men eat here I noticed. They had a tv playing a basketball game as well. Everyone was staring at their phones but I guess that’s the way it is these days. Overall a good place to eat and get out for a while!
I heard all of the rave reviews and had to give it a try. My girlfriend and I only had one taco each (fried avocado) but dang it made an impression! Never quite had a taco like it before. Would absolutely come back again and get maybe 2 or 3 more!
Torchys is always a great spot for tacos! Some of my favorites are the brushfire, trailer park and the democrat. You can get any taco made “trashy” which is when they add their queso to it but you could just get their chips and queso so you can have it on your tacos and with chips!
