I freaking love this place. Get your lunch here, not any of the national chains. Quality of produce is immaculate
I went to ThunderCloud Subs on Guadalupe for the first time, I was really impressed with how good the subs were and the value of their subs (especially when compared to Subway), Chris was also really chilled and friendly towards his guests and helped me decide some of the condiments I should on my sandwich, I'm definitely coming back to Thundercloud Subs again.
I got a hot pastrami and it was microwaved. I'm sure the cold subs are fine but that's a big no for me on the hot subs.
I've been eating at one T-Cloud or another since I was in high school (and that was a long time ago - mid eighties). No-frills casual lunch (or dinner) stop for high-quality and fresh ingredients. They will make your sandwich to order and do so quickly. It's just an Austin institution and has been successful by sticking to the same model year after year - great sandwiches at a great price. Plus, there is always good music on while you wait or while you eat. It ain't the Four Seasons, so don't go in there with your fancy-pants attitude and you'll be fine. I'll feely admit to being a little bit of a homer for Austin businesses but these sandwiches are just better than the national chain competition - by a lot. Austin's original and one-of-a-kind!
Very good sandwiches I would recommend coming here totally. Way better than subway or anything like that.

This is a thundercloud subs…. Don’t expect an amazing 10-15$ super fancy bla bla bla melt. This is the working man’s sandwich shop. The sandwiches are relatively simple but good. It won’t blow you away with flavor but it’ll leave you good and full for a reasonable price.The woman who served us Maddie was very friendly and charismatic, heck I’m coming back because she’s awesome but the staff seems cool too, the food was good enough for the price and overall if ya want a basic old fashioned sub or sandwich this is the place to go. Also forgot to mention had their corn and pepper soup and it was phenomenal, the soup is why I give it 5* instead of 4*. Overall don’t expect something amazing but it’ll be good enough and you’ll leave there full with a wallet that isn’t too much lighter
