Excellent, underappreciated gem in Austin. The Tavern has a nice homely pub feel to it, and while the aesthetic might not meet the standards of Instagrammers or other influencers, the atmosphere is great and the food is delicious. I particularly recommend the German pretzel with beer cheese, the Tavern white wings (bacon wrapped boneless Buffalo chicken bites), and the cheddar cheese burger which is served with a ring of grilled crispy cheese. We left feeling very full and very happy. Highly recommend.

Lots of parking, great food, 5$ margs at happy hour until 7 on weekdays. Bartender was sweet but they need to get a better ac or get them some cooling fans or something. Solid spot.

This is a cool little place. The food was delicious. I don't like chicken fried steak, but theirs is delicious. The staff was nice and attentive as well, especially the guy who told us he just started about 2-3 weeks ago. The creepy little girl in the mirror was a nice touch. I'd definitely come back.

This is such a great bar. I've been going here for many years. I Love the dark wood feel and all the decor. The staff, the drinks and the food are always superb. Love the Mahomes Burger and the Fish And Chips. Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin used to drink here before Aztex matches. What else do you want? Bats? Emily's shoes? Yeah, they got that also.P.s. I'd recommend moving the double foto with the story of then bar and shoes next to the actual shoes:)

Cozy place to hang, the bartender was cool and made me the best mocktail marg.

Lol this was a while back but the bar tender who poured my drink filled the glass half way with Dos, then noticed the keg was going out and picked another random beer for the rest. I saw it all happen from my table. We had a good laugh about it. They should offer like, fountain draft beers and just hope you get lucky.

Cool little local bar/restaurant with a cool history. Had the chicken fried steak, and it was excellent! Good beer choices too. Played shuffle board and was cheered on by the frat group that was having a meeting there. ?

One of Austin's historical spots, we really enjoyed it. The food was great, super fun and friendly service. Don't forget to go upstairs and see Emily's shoes!

Friendly & helpful staff. Great food. I had the "Cadillac" she had Quesadilla's. Comfortable atmosphere, off in a cozy corner, in (or outside) with a crowd. Going back soon!

A very basic sports bar for college aged guys. The food was ok, (and took a while) but not their focus. Might be fun for the right crowd,
