There are a lot of excellent BBQ places in and around Austin and this one is one of them. The Switch is close to my home so my wife and I regularly dine in or take out here. Depending on which day you arrive will affect on how you order where sometimes you are quickly seated at the table or walk up and order you meal. Sometimes we sit at the bar or in a booth.I ordered the 1/2 dozen Oak Smoked Fried Chicken Wings and side of Potato Salad. They are one of the best chicken wings out there. They had a wonderful bbq flavored taste to them and enjoy eating them. The BBQ here has its own distinct flavor from other places. The bar has a nice selection of local craft brew and other choice of drinks. The atmosphere was great and the staff is very friendly. And as you leave you can walk by the smokers to see the engine of this place.…Another trip to my most visited BBQ place this year where I ordered the Smoked Turkey BLT. I tried a new item off the menu to change things up. I sat in a booth this time where first had to order my food. My order was delivered to my table. The BLT looked pretty big from my vantage point where it was cut in half and stacked on one another with a side of fries. The Turkey was big slices along with tasty crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado mash, and mayo kept together with buttery Texas toast It was just a very good sandwich and filled me up for the day and beyond. Not sure if the turkey made me sleepy later in the day but next time skip breakfast before tackling this again.

Another evening post TASSP conference and decided on some good Texas BBQ, I called a buddy from Houston and he recommended this place. It was a long drive from downtown Austin to eat here. When you arrive it's a large mall area with many franchise restaurants and stores. Parking is an issue if you're driving a large SUV. You enter and wait to be seated. The dinning room is open and has a Western style all around. There were few clients and it took a while to be attended by my server. I asked her to recommended what they were known for at Switch and so I ordered the ribs, corn and jalapeño sausage. The bathrooms are located at the far end and are attractive and well kept. My server was friendly and that is were it plus ends. The ribs and sausage were warm and really not much flavor. The corn casserole was ok but overall not worth the drive and $30 bill.i gotta not ask him again for BBQ suggestions

I didn’t like this bbq food at all. The brisket was dry and too much pepper in the rub. The potato salad taste like straight dill and was NOT good. I didn’t even eat it. The Mac and cheese just tastes like it is from a box with the liquid cheese. The fries were the best part. Prices are high also especially for the quality of food. SO many better bbq restaurants in the area!

The BEST PULLED PORK BBQ SANDWICH I have ever had. Good sweet tea. Good ribs too the seasoning on the ribs was a bit spicy w pepper but darn good. Good BBQ sauce too. Good fries. I will eat here again.

Their brisket, while generally smoked well, is much too over salted too often. That's fine though, there are plenty of decent Texas bbq joints nearby. What I really lament, is their dramatic menu reduction. I'm guessing it was a casualty of covid, but their chicken fried steak was special - the 'gravy' was legit, a little more flavorful than typical Central Texas fare (likely the Louisiana influence).Another menu disappearance is their gumbo. It was always a little too small of a serving but it was improved over time & definitely fit the bill in a pinch - now I have to go to Evangeline's (or make it at home - boo).In general, I'm happy to have a non-chain option around, unfortunately I generally have higher expectations of them.

Families, business men bring clients, lunch after church, and everyone else come here for good food and drinks. They even make their own mustard and ketchup! I love that they have specials and they never disappoint. Even those crazies who don’t like BBQ will find something good to eat because there’s a mix of Cajun, Texan, Tex Mex, and more. The drinks are even great. The bar is nice with several comfortable chairs and TVs to watch sports. Texas country music is playing above but not too loud. It’s perfect and they never disappoint. The waiters are very accommodating too.

Tasty brisket and excellent pork ribs. Great food. Ask about a tour of the pits where the magic happens.

The barbeque was excellent, flavorful and tender. The sides were remarkable too. The place is too expensive though, in spite of the pit skill. With such high prices I was reluctant to buy the sausage without tasting. I was denied. Disappointing. The waiter was attentive and friendly, and the Q was top notch. Oh, good sauce too. 2 kinds, traditional and a mustard one. Sell a kidney and go at least once?

We were very excited to try this place because we’re big fans of Stiles Switch! However, this BBQ was much different. Overall it was very spicy. The brisket was extremely peppery. It was moist, which was great. I usually love the bark on brisket but this was straight pepper. Even the pickles were spicy!? The Brussels were good but again, very spicy. The corn casserole was our favorite part of the meal.Service was good and waiter was very nice.

First time experience was great. We didn't bring our dog because we weren't sure of their pet policy. They said they allow pets on the patio and even gave us some BBQ for our pup to take home. The Cubano sandwich and brisket enchiladas were yummy. We will definitely be back for the brisket next time.
