You have to get a photo with the Jackalope which is right when you walk in. Some of the seats at the bar were swings which was neat. But it felt like a college frat party with beer pong tables, loud music and mediocre drinks.
We were seeing a comedy show for a venue a few steps from this place and we wanted a quick bite and perhaps a drink or two. We were searching for any place that mentioned food and this was the first place we saw that mentioned a good burger per a food network I believe. We stepped in and it was very loud, but we were initially ok with that. It's a rock bar from what we could tell so what would you expect. We sat down and watched other people come in and sit down as well. The place was fairly empty though, I would say 7 people including us. While we waited we searched for menus on the table, maybe a QR code for an online menu. It really did take a while for us to notice no one had acknowledged us and after a few minutes more it set in that we were not even going to get a "hi" or "this is how this place works." If there is not table service you would think someone would let you know how ordering works or someone would actually be behind the bar. I saw one person that looked like they actually worked there but was running around in the back so I never caught anyone to at least talk to. We walked out and found another place to eat and drink. Review for The Vulcan Gas Company and Iron Catcus in their respective Google maps sections.
It’s your typical dive bar. Decent drinks, good crowd, good music. Didn’t feel like it was worth the hype or the reviews. There were better ones out there on 6th street that were better. It mainly depends on the vibe you are looking for.No entry fee at the time we visited. So there was more crowd than usual.
Superbowl Sunday, the bar is fmmt male bartend seems unable to handle even the littlest amount of stress. Gave him my order and he didn't kffds senow/understand his menu. Also sadly I over heard him talk badly about his cgcoworkers. This is the first experience in Austin that had been explicitly bad and unprofessional. I'm sympathetic to b
Fun night!! Great crowd, not too expensive. Jordan behind the bar was nice. RECOMMEND
Fun bar. Played a lot of old school punk! Happy Hour was a great barte
I love this place. Great food. Great atmosphere.
Happy Hours here are so great! Rock n' roll, old Austin vibe, and great food and drink specials. Highly recommended to stop here before checking out a show downtown. Heads up, it turns into a nightclub vibe around 10pm so unless you're under 30, you probably won't dig it though.
We stumbled in on this place on a Monday around 6pm. Don’t let the heavy metal music scare you, these burgers are delicious… some of the most flavorful, tasty burgers! Highly recommend.
Only gave it one star so I can leave a comment. Ask for a menu at the bar and the bartender cussed us out. Not sure why since we were just sitting at the booth. So we left. Wish we could have tried the food, the pizza smelled really good.
