On the plus, free limited parking, coffee area with alcohol also available, very relaxed atmosphere, and a restaurant that specifies ‘no tips.’ On the bad, the Thai food is just kinda ‘eh’ for a lack of good ingredients. Tofu and asparagus on one of our entrees were not fresh. It’s also less of a restaurant and more of a coffee house; you order via your cell phone and they deliver it to your table (no wait staff). Serve yourself drinks. I’m not certainly for the ‘living wage’ aspect of this restaurant, but Pei Wei makes better food. Go for the coffee, eat somewhere else.
Gluten Free, Vegan desert mecca!Thai Fresh is not the most convenient place to visit. Hospitality is good, but does leave room for improvement. However, this should be a regular stop for gluten free or vegan treats. Order more than one to eat there, and get one to go!
First off, this is a semi tiny establishment with very limited parking spaces. There are about 11 parking spots including a handicap space, there are also two 10 minute spots for pick up order. the food quality is good and the price is in my opinion expensive, considering the amount of food servings. The ordering system they have makes you want to walk out and go elsewhere; it happened to me. I would consider coming back again, but not regularly.
Dairy free, y’all. The entire restaurant menu is dairy free, and the adjoining bakery is also unless the item is noted otherwise. Even the ice cream is dairy free…but tastes like the real thing! For a dairy lover-turned-severely allergic this is huge.I’ve come here a number of times and loved everything every time. I’ve almost had the whole menu at this point. Even my bottomless preteen son loves it. If you normally get pad Thai, this is the place to branch out. Pictured are the Thai fried rice with pork belly and the green curry (not for the spicy-food-challenged). My personal favorite is the yellow curry; all ingredients are seasonal and fresh.ps. Make sure to get an affogato for dessert from the bakery side. It’s worth it!
They close at 9. I showed up at 8:58 after the food truck I ordered from online was closed when I got there. Just visiting Austin and don’t know my way around very well. The manager kicked me out with 15+ patrons still there and didn’t even care about my to go order. I get it. I do. I would have ordered whatever he’s stated was easy. Apparently, what was easy was kicking me to the curb. That said, don’t think you can be rude to a visitor of your city at the end of the night without someone posting it. People were there and not close to done. They were still prepping orders and not cleaning up yet. He could have at least shown some decorum and been polite about sending me on my way.
WAITED 30 MINS before they told me mine had been sitting inside and claimed I turned it down when they brought it out lol So this place my fiance had told me about for 2 yrs and I finally made a trip out to try it with her. We get there and my fiance and I place our orders. Hers comes first, so I patiently waited, tasting hers while I waited which was really good just service was horrible. They didn't even let me know my meal was getting cold inside until I saw 2 table who arrived after me get food first and decided to ask. They said they'd recook and give me a free dessert. I just got a refund and left. So disappointed in service. I had been waiting forever to eat here and waited 30 mins for a meal that was never delivered.
I rather enjoyed having the pad thai with no protein($14.93). The pad see ew with sirloin ($18.93)was delicious. The green papaya salad ($6.50) was good but needed tomatoes. Thai beef jerky ($7.93) was a bit dry but had good flavor. Sticky rice ($2) is also available. I do like the convenience of them having groceries. The atmosphere is wonderful. The staff is really friendly. You are doing an excellent job at trying to keep people safe during the pandemic!! Thank you ?
New to Austin and we've had fun trying so many great places. This place stands out and we will be regulars. OMG you can taste the love in the food.
Not bad! Thai food at Thai fresh is worth a Thai. They have a huge selection on the menu from entrees to coffee to baked goods and hoodies! Bad part is that the rice they cook to go along with the curry is unpleasantly mushy.
Call ahead before heading over. When we went they only allowed patio dining. Overall great food and very quick and kind service. The price was reasonable as well. We had the coconut fried shrimp, fried mushrooms, papaya salad, and yellow curry. Shrimp tasted amazing and fresh, the coconut taste blended well with it. There was a cilantro/lime sauce that came with the mushrooms that created an interesting taste. The yellow curry was amazing! Didn't know what kind of veggies to add to it but there's an option to have the chef choose for you (very helpful when I can't make up my mind on what I want). Papaya salad was fresh, it was great to have it in between bites from the main dish. Had a cappuccino and jasmine tea while waiting as well, helped to keep us warm.
