Amaya's is across the street from the hotel we stayed at. The parking lot was constantly so we decided to go try it out. The service was excellent and the food was really good. We only had a chance to try their breakfast and hope to go back another time for lunch. The salsa was delicious and the chips were hot and fresh.
I just wanted to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Amaya's for taking care of our employees last week during the winter storm. Many employees were held over to assist the citizens of Austin; Amaya came through for us and provided hot food for our employees. Thank you, thank you, thank you soooo much for thinking of us. YOU GUYS are VIPs and you are truly appreciated. Michelle Houston APD 911 Communications
Went to eat with my husband and his brother and our server Ana S (said the bill) which looked like she hated her job, didn't seem to care about our dining experience. She kept telling us about her troubles with her ex and basically throwing herself at my bro in law while we're all needing a refill. Your policy when you get hired is do not bring your problems to work i believe. Very unprofessional in our opinion. Will not go back. Food was nice and hot but need new lively wait staff.
The food was okay. My husband enjoyed his beef fajitas, but my chicken tacos were somewhat bland. Our waiter was not very attentive. He either had too many tables or was just not a good waiter.
Best tacos in Austin. Order the village taco plate #23 sub beef fajita. Nachos Compuestos sub beef fajita are delicious as well.
Tacos here were very tasty and good value. Good range of beers. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Tortilla chips and dip when you sit down went down well.
Amaya’s truly has the best chicken or beef tacos! I’ve come to realize it’s their taco shells that truly make their tacos the best! Their rice and beans come with the plates or you can get tacos a la carte. The only fault I find with Amaya’s is their salsa is too hot to enjoy, unless your a fan of really hot sauce! The û
We were staying across the hwy in the Ambassy and needed a quick meal. Amaya's was pretty classic mexican fare. I wouldn't say it was the best food we ate on the trip, but it was pretty good! being from the Midwest, this is the kind of Mexican food we usually get. We visited several other places that were better - but this was fine for a quick meal.
We dropped in Amaya's for lunch recently. We had been customers at the original location for years, and then at this location for several years. This was a first visit back in some time after moving away from the area. Not a bit of difference in the food, and those tacos are great and bring back memories of the ones my mother would fix on the stovetop in a skillet. WHat you will find here is some great old fashioned Tex Mex with tacos and enchiladas reigning supreme.
I don’t think I’ve ever been in such a loud, noisey restaurant. Could barely hear the conversation at our table. Low ceilings, concrete floors??? I don’t k ow but acoustics are horrible. Had chalupas, they were very good and they do make their shells there. My friends loves their tacos! Overall, I don’t look forward to going back anytime soon, even though the food was good.
