Went to Summer Moon for refreshments. They are known in Austin for their “pop tarts”. As they say, there not your father’s pop tarts of old, but handmade fried pastries made each day. I got the strawberry pop tart and a hot chocolate with “moon milk”. As they say in Austin, “Keep Austin weird”. Works right in.
First off, I hate writing bad reviews and I’m only doing this so the owners are aware of the issue. I walked in to get some work done and study since this is the only coffee shop in dripping springs open past 4pm on Saturdays. Unfortunately the internet was so slow it couldn’t even load my gmail. I tested it and got some decent results with 100mbps download and 2mbps upload from a google speed test so I’m not sure what’s up with the extremely slow load times. I wasted 45 minutes at least getting there and back.
Hello, I order coffee through ChowNow for pickup at Summer Moon about 2-3 times per week. Been doing this for months now, it’s become somewhat of a morning routine before workCoffee is great! It’s always made right, timely and the prices are fair. I’m a huge fan of the bottled Moon Milk to go as well.I love the Location and ease of ordering remotely through ChowNow. The main downside to my Summer Moon experience is - Customer Service.I’ve stopped coming the past few weeks due to a lack of engagement I noticed from the staff. It’s something I’ve always experienced but never stopped me from ordering. It’s deliciously crafted coffee close to home after all.Today I gave it another go and came across the same experience which made me decide to stop coming all together.1.- No one greets upon entry. I’ve never been greeted even if staff sees someone coming in. The only time I’ve been greeted is when I purchase in the front counter.2.- When I approach to get my coffee from the pick up counter- no one says anything or confirms if that’s in fact my order. I could be right face to face with someone(at times not actively making a coffee) and no acknowledgement.3. - Instances where I say “Good Morning” or “I appreciate it y’all!” No one responds.I’m not asking for special treatment, just similar experiences offered by other locations and similar coffee shops.The staff seems to be mostly engaged in personal conversations of their own rather than give those small micro interactions that make the difference.It’s mostly empty when I go in, no one in the Drive Thru or Inside. Perhaps it’s the fact that I order to go ahead of time. Maybe I don’t spend as much to make an impression. Perhaps it’s too early in the morning for the staff to be actively engaged. I don’t quite know.Great Coffee! Beautiful Location! Fairly Priced and always Clean. My decision is solely based on the Customer Service experience alone.
The Espresso Milkshake is the best drink ever! It's like a milkshake that tastes like strong coffee. The Dripping Springs location has had great service every time I've gone, no complaints!
The coffee is great, especially the Bluemoon where they add lavender to your coffee. The only complaint that I would have is that their point-of-sale systems are very antiquated in many times when you get to the window they can’t pull up your order, I wish their point-of-sale system was good as the coffee. The people are super friendly and helpful, the service is really great.
One of my favorite coffee shops in the Austin area! The staff was nice… but I did feel a little bit like I was in the way. But the coffee is so good! Would highly recommend!
Delicious coffee and roasts! My favorite is the 1/4 Summermoon, not too sweet. Love their decaf beans. They also have K pods that brew a very good cup of coffee with an assortment of different types of beans. There's really no reason to go anywhere else!
This is easily my favorite coffee shop. The staff is extremely friendly and hard-working. The coffee is delicious, you absolutely have to try their moon milk. Moon milk is their specialty creamer that is composed of seven secret ingredients and it is absolutely amazing. I am here nearly every day studying for the mcat and the staff has never once been rude or unwelcoming even when I study for 6+ hours. My only minor concern is that the wifi occasionally is spotty.
Second time to be at a Summer Moon. First trip was amazing through the drive through. This time I wanted some beans and to check it out. Not bad, no greets until I was well into looking at merch. Then it was a bit confusing, was he talking to me or his headset. Bought two bags of coffee and a drip. Which I saw two options, got rang up for one but the worker picked the opposite brew. Meh I guess I will take that one…
Great coffee. Definitely better than Starbucks hands down. Definitely my go to coffee place. Goodbye Starbucks :)For first timers, one warning I got to state here - the full moon milk is pretty sweet. If you are like me and like to add 1 packet sugar with your latte, then go for the 'quarter moon latte'.
