I got the red beans and rice with a side of smothered green beans. Also had a boudin ball. It was all delicious! The corn bread was dry, but maybe I’m not used to a different recipe. I’ll try the jalapeño one next time.Edited 3/3/22Went back and tried the Crawfish étouffée, gumbo and jalapeño cornbread. It was all delicious!

Fantastic King Cakes! I ordered them online and ready for pick-up on time. Delicious!

This is a fabulous place for everything Cajun and Creole. We met up for an early dinner here. It's a counter order then find your seat system. Which is great since if it's busy you can get it to go, then eat on your tailgate. Food was fantastic. Enough spice to know it's there without making your whole face burn. The still didn't have fountain drinks when we were there (Late December), so that would be the only thing I could ding them on.

I can't wait to go back. And the staff was amazing, very helpful. Love this place.

Prepared to cook stuffed chicken, pork loin and catfish

Went on a Sunday got two fried catfish baskets. I prefer my catfish and the batter seasoned. The batter/breading was seasoned not the catfish. It was hot and fresh with two large pieces in each with ? and two hushpuppies.

TLDR: A pretty darn solid Cajun place.Went here for lunch this past weekend. I've become pretty jaded to Cajun food in most of Texas, as it tends to fall pretty flat. this place is *not* one of those.I got the chicken and sausage gumbo and some fried pickles. overall, the Gumbo was pretty solid. had a great flavor, good meat/veggie ratio, and they served it with the right amount of rice. the only complaint I have (which is certainly nitpicky) is it could have been a *little* thicker, as it was somewhat soupy. regardless, probably the best restaurant gumbo I've had this far west of LA. The fried pickles unfortunately, I can't say the same of. a disclaimer: I love fried pickle chips, but I hate fried pickle spears. They serve spears. I should have, and didn't ask, So I can't really blame them for me ordering something I don't like, and then not liking it. and as far as spear pickles go, they weren't bad at all. but alas, they were not to my liking. The location itself is a bit meh. they clearly have a preference to being a market, instead of a restaurant, and this reflects in how things are set up. nothing was dirty, but lack of soda fountain, mediocre chairs, and having to sit in essentially a "high traffic" area sort of takes away from the dining area.Overall, considering where we are, a solid 4+/5 place to go. certainly worth a stop to scratch that Cajun itch.

Taste like home! I'm from southeast TX, where we have a huge Cajun influence on foods. The chicken and sausage gumbo is addicting. The boudain taste fresh and not heavily greasy like some can be. I recommend stopping in for a bite to eat or putting in a nice big order of take out that your family is sure to love. Looking forward to going back and trying out some of their other stuff too.

Excellent food! Seafood gumbo was delicious, so was the alligator and muffaletta. Store with frozen versions of their food to take home. Small spot, order at counter style.

We had the fried fish, side orders of fried oysters and gator with an appetizer of fried mushrooms. Seasoned batter is awesome. Fried oysters were cooked perfectly. Fried gator was what it is. I'm from La and when they tell you it tastes like chicken go with it. My only complaint is a PERSONAL one.. not the business fault. I don't like the fish. Very gamey/fishy like bad pond raised catfish. On aside note they have LOTS of fresh and frozen goodies for sale. Check out the Natchitoches pies. They are amazing!
