Soto is a neighborhood gem with creative cuisine, great wine and sake list and the freshest sushi! Love their happy hour menu. Always a pleasure to see the sushi chefs. Enjoyed meeting Evan, our server and Frank who gave incredible descriptions of the dishes we ordered. Highly recommend Soto - South Lamar!

Soto is a delightful Japanese restaurant and is convenient to Alamo Drafthouse on S. Lamar, so perfect for date night or getting together with friends before a movie. The food is great and the happy hour menu makes it more affordable. The service has always been fantastic every time I go. Highly recommend.

My girlfriend and I had an incredible experience at Soto. Our server was super friendly and had great recommendations. While the Flaming Salmon gets all the attention on OT, the best dish of the night was the Wagyu Surf & Turf - easily our favorite roll in Austin. Highly recommend dining during happy hour as the prices were quite reasonable given the high quality of the sushi. Will be visiting again, hopefully very soon!
We waited and waited for our food, and eventually asked to just cancel whatever hadnât come out yet. 30 minutes in between nigiri bites is not a good dining experience. Place is also nonsensically expensive. Drinks 30+, and the sushi as well. No problem paying for sushi, but when they barely give you any fish itâs very frustrating. Would have had to spend 500 bucks to get remotely satisfied. Only one bite was exceptionally good, the rest mediocre. Strip mall quality sushi for NYC prices. No thank you.
Just mediocre. Outdoor dining was very forgotten about, dirty and windy. Menus blew away all night long. Food was fine but unmemorable. Descriptions didn't make much sense
