The food is edible. It's not going to knock your socks off, but it's not truly awful. It is bland, generic Asian food and the ingredients aren't the freshest. I have ordered the bun, which is pretty difficult to mess up, it was bland and, again, not the best quality ingredients. The banh mi is tasteless and the egg rolls are gross. I go here when I want something fast that's not burgers or Mexican. Luckily, there's Spoon + Fork now for Thai.
AWESOME. What an incredible spot. I'm visiting family and this place has been my go to since we got here.I appreciate the fresh and varied options this place has. NYC born and raised I've had quite a lot of Asian fusion food and more specifically I've eaten at plenty of authentic Vietnamese restaurants as I grew up in Queens. This restaurant in particular is very yummy commercial enough to get your food fast but authentic enough to actually get some incredible food at this price point.I've eaten pho at $20+ a bowl. I've also had milk tea at $10+ a cup. This is just as good. The service here is also impeccable the staff is friendly and so genuinely attentive. I saw people getting irritated and I just want to let you know. This place would thrive in NYC y'all wouldn't.
Ordered this pad Thai for $20. This is not pad Thai. I think this place just scammed me out of $20. This portion is for a child. I’m a grown man. If you want to eat actually good Asian food make the drive to 888.I feel taken advantage of, this sent me into a spiral of crippling despair. Don’t know how I’m going to recover from this emotional damage
I ordered a large order of to-go food today for dinner, one of the entrees was sesame chicken with broccoli & white rice. The serving of this particular entree was really small. The container was only half full! Containing Chicken & only 1 piece of broccoli. The white rice portion was ok as usual. We eat here often and we are very disappointed. It makes me want to go spend my money somewhere else where the serving size is worth what I paid for it. $14 for this small sesame chicken meal & white rice- see picture. Unbelievable!
This place is really delicious, the Pho is very good, as well as their Curry. The Chinese dishes are typical western style dishes; but, they are all good. The biggest complaint is the size of the chicken pieces in their Chinese dishes. They are cut in Hugh pieces. Way to big! They need to be cut in 4-5 pieces each.
These bougie transplants out here are always complaining about new area restaurants. "We didn't get this" and "My server didn't do that." Well guess what, people? Running a restaurant is hard and sometimes things don't go perfectly, despite the best efforts of the owner and staff. If you want a perfect dining experience, skip the $10/plate pho place and go to a $150/plate restaurant instead.*Rant over.* Ahem. Now, as for Simply Pho, I love this place. IMO, it's better fresh so dine in if you can. The food is excellent & reasonably priced, the service is fast & friendly, and the atmosphere is just what you'd expect—booths galore and very clean. If you want a decent bowl of pho and you're in the Belterra area, check it out. Unless you arrive with unreasonable expectations for a place that's called "Simply Pho," you won't be disappointed.
Had take out, spicy Thai wings were pretty good, green curry soup was as expected and kung pao beef was good. Glad to have a good restaurant with a variety of quality options nearby.
Food was spot on. Hostess could have been a little more attentive. Waitress did great especially considering she was handling half of the restaurant. We will be back.
Where to begin? Waited 10 minutes for server despite 4 of them lounging at soda machines, next several servers just walked by ignoring me finally one arrived.Next the food was menial at best. The egg rolls looked like they came out of a grocery store, the pho was even worst the meat was poor quality and the "meatball" was some rubber meat and tasteless. Maybe that part of Austin is used to mediocre food. I have eaten real Vietnamese meals and this was not. Not to mention the pho was not the right temperature.
Good place for Asian food, on the neighborhood. Lots of noodles, better than good, well prepared specialties, especially if you like the spice and heat.
