Their Stew chicken was very flavorful and the rice and peas was delicious. Francesca was a delightful and professional representative of the business and she was fast on getting food out to customers.They are in a food truck park that has a really cool laid back drink. There have tables and benches for you to stay there and eat. A+ for me.
Shirley’s is our go to every Sunday! We go to Shirleys whenever we want to treat ourselves or when we need to feed our souls and bellys.
I’d skip this truck next time. I’ve had Trinidadian food growing up in NYC and this is bad. The rice was good and the shredded lettuce was fine. Too bad it only had 2 tiny pieces of plantain.The worst was the stew. It was all bones and tasted very fishy in a bad way.
Terrific to be able to find Trinidad doubles in Austin. And it is in a great food truck area with options for a live band and with a nice playground
I got the curry chicken roti..and the CURRY tasted waterd down.. NO SEASONING.... I HAD most bones no meat....IT WAS DRY..$18 WAS a big waste. I go out to eat everyday..and this was a big waste of money and timeAs long as I been waiting to finally find the time to go to this place just for the curry..BIG DISAPPOINTMENTTHE MACARONI PIE IS GREAT AND OX TAILSBUT STOP WITH THE CURRY..IT WAS HORRIBLE
Authentic Trinidadian cuisine with friendly customer service. We had the pelau with stew chicken and pelau with oxtail. Everything was very tasty, particularly the oxtail.. Pepper sauce was also pretty good.
Great food and location
