most places here close at 8pm ( wait, what?). the salt lick was open til 9. there was of, course, a line for the bar B Que. Luckily two seats opened up at the bar. we jumped on it and were served instantly. the sausages were plain but still pretty good. the pork was actually very good. the beer selection was good enough and the wine list was surprisingly good. the person behind the bar continued to be attentive, even let us hang around considerably after 9 as she cleaned up. not bad at all for an airport. and after spending 8 days paying for restaurants in california even the prices seemed resonable

Got the brisket sandwich and it was the same price as the two meat platter. Definitely recommend the platter since it comes with two meats at the same price. The brisket was dry and burnt in some parts. I think it’s just that they’re not able to cook to the same level at the airport.

The BBQ is delicious, and the potato salad and coleslaw (no mayo) are also both delicious. The 2 meat plate is $22. Although it’s not as good as the original store (e.g, no port ribs on the airport menu), it’s still a pretty good option for having a meal within the airport.

Love the breakfast burritos here! Not the cheapest place but the prices are fair, given the quality and quantity, especially for an airport restaurant.

The brisket and pulled pork was incredible. No mac and cheese side, but the beans were good. Potato salad was lacking. We bought lunch and beers to go to go sit at our gate, it's awesome you can get a beer and walk around the airport! I picked up some garlic dry rub and some sauce marinade for gifts from my trip. Nice little stop to get grub and drinks at the airport!

Friday night stuck in Austin for 4 hours. Was here 2 months ago and thought that was bad but this time we figured we would stop in and try Salt Lick. Didn't get to try the food but did get to have a beer. I have never in my 40 years of travel paid 12 bucks for a domestic draft. I had that because a local brew was 21 bucks a draft.lol Unreal! I guess it's Austin being as it is but my goal going forward will be to avoid this airport like the plague.

Good bbq considering it’s in an airport. While good I wish there was another option besides beans for the combo. Out of courtesy for my fellow passengers I chose not to finish them before getting on a plane

Best brisket I’ve ever had.Fastest service EVER. No joke, we got our food about 3-5 minutes after ordering(group of 12).Our server Big John was super nice and accommodating to our kids. This place was simple, nothing crazy spectacular about the environment which makes it all that much better when the food blows your mind.Get the brisket.

Very tasty pulled pork sandwich which was excellent. One star deduction for poor customer service (You should find better employee's than the rude cashiers you have.) Airports are not the best places buy Austin is known for nice people - except your cashiers. Would I be back? - probably not.

Right, last time I was here it was awful! That was three years ago, today even though they were really busy they did good. We got the two meat platter with brisket and turkey and they did good. The potato and slaw was tasty and it was enough for the two of us. Shame the pint of shiner was $12.45. At least gas is not that much at the moment!
