27th wedding Anniversary
Pretty good! Servers were wonderful, steak was perfect, lobster was super salty, and ambiance definitely felt a bit tired.
Our waitress was attentive to our needs. The food was a little room temperature. It took almost an hour for our main course to get to our table.
Service was less than adequate. Lobster bisque was watery and tasteless. The lobster Mac and cheese was shameful. It tasted very fishy. The ribeye and filet did not disappoint, but the taste of the steak alone did not make up for the other shortcomings. The last Ruthâs Chris we visited was in San Antonio. This Austin location pales in comparison.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. It is always my "go-to" for celebratory meals & has been for 20 years. But for the second consecutive trip my "medium" filet has been horribly overcooked. More like medium-well to well done. I would have sent it back, but it took forever to get in the first place so I choked it down. The waiter was very nice, but the restaurant is understaffed. Given the state of the economy & the problem of all companies trying to find help, I definitely have tried to extend grace. But this is getting old. Plus, despite telling the restaurant when I made the reservation that my wife had a dairy allergy & again when we met our waiter, they proceeded to bring the chopped salad with blue cheese and a filet drowning in butter.

We are the biggest Ruthâs Chris fans. Dating back to when my husband worked there in college, Baton Rouge, to very family birthday at RCâs. The Austin location is beautiful but the food has just lost its sizzle. A couple items were on the cold side, we asked for steaks to be done âPittsburghâ style and the werenât. The server was sweet but forgetful. Barely anyone was there so they put all of the populated tables close together and we had to whisper to have conversations without disrupting our neighbors. And then our bill was close to 700$, including tip, and we only had a cheaper level bottle of wine⦠it just wasnât a 700$ (4 people) experience at all. And we are very attached to Ruthâs Chris, so I hope they can bring it back to level.
