I was recently visiting from Florida and was recommended to try Red Lotus by a friend. My trip is already over but all I can think about is their yummy fried rice. If you’re from Austin and haven’t already fallen in love with this place then you’re missing out. I had a couple other things off the menu which were equally as tasty but I only managed to snag a picture of the fried rice (because I was so excited to dig in.) Not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere was spot on and the staff were super welcoming , Jimmy was my server and he was awesome ! Thank you Red Lotus for making my Austin trip memorable.
Ordered combo egg foo young, lo mein and egg drop soup. The egg foo young had pieces of chicken that were so dried out it was like stale jerky that was hard af and the beef in it smelled off. It was a clumpy nasty oily mess. The lo mein was edible. The egg drop soup tasted like metal. I ended up with food poisoning. They do package very well though. My husband got fried rice which was fine and so was the appetizer platter.
Might not be the most traditional version of any of the styles but it didn't matter. Everything I tried was great. The lunch specials are better and larger than many similar places. I will be back several times.
LOVE at first sight! I decided to try something new. What a finding, the flavors are amazing, it tastes so fresh and delicious. This is my new to go place. Totally recommend.
Food was absolutely disgusting the service host also kept referring to my friend who was a trans woman as sir. Absolutely rude oh and the water was tap water and tasted like pure chemicals. Would not recommend based off of the disrespect alone.
Ordered: Calamari and combination pho.Asian style calamari. Serve on fried Vege. Breading itself is different than other restaurant tasteless crunch calamari. Their breading for calamari remind me of my mom cooking. On top of that it comes with Lime Juice to balance out little heavy seasoning on calamari.Well, pho is pho.
First time customer, delivery. So grateful for the delivery option. It was right on time. Rice, egg rolls, cashew chicken, sesame beef and broccoli, all cooked well. Maybe the best egg drop soup I've ever had and one bowl is enough for 3-4 people. One tip, save the sesame beef for dine in. I think it is coated in rice flour or some kind of starch, after steaming in the delivery container for 20 minutes, the outside was soggy not crispy.
The food was incredibly tasty, so on its own, I'd rate it 5 stars, but when you have a hair in it, and simply say sorry but don't offer any correction... not cool.I've begun taking notice at how customer service and the integrity of businesses and/or their products has started seriously dwindling. It's a shame.
They charge a dollar or two more than other Chinese restaurants, but what you get for your money is unrivaled. Very good food, good portions, great presentation. A+ must try.
Such great food and they were open and delivered during the snow storm We were so grateful to find them.
