Definitely overhyped, the portion is so small the entire table is still hungry. Chashu was small, overcooked, burnt and dry. I paid $4.5 more for extra chashu and it was only one slice. The picture was the extra slice of chashu.. it’s just unbelievable. I had to ask the staff to double check and they indeed missed one more slice of chashu. But again they are still dry and overcooked.
Delicious! Always a treat when we come here. Hands down by favorite Ramen spot in Austin. The service is always friendly. The food is always fantastic and fast. The atmosphere is comforting and inclusive. If you haven’t given them a try you absolutely should!
My first time to visit this place and there was no bang for the buck. I believe I paid $16 for a big bowl of noodles and a dime size of meat. Not worth the money for the amount of food.I would prefer a steak for $16 or even Whataburger. The flavor was good. The portion was tiny and not filling. If you're a meat eater, this is NOT the place for you.
Everything about this place is great! The people are friendly and the food is VERY delicious! The croquette was the perfect balance of potato and meat; the chicken karaage was perfectly crisp but the meat was tender and the aioli and a spritz of lemon just made it extra perfect. The best part of the whole meal was the ramen. I ordered the OG with extra pork, green onions and corn. I also got a Yuzu Bomb to put into the ramen and it added that extra bit of flavor but still maintained its balance. I would HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a place with great Japanese food.
The noodles were to hard, the PORK broth tasted old or poorly heated and paid for napa cabbage then barely could tell its there. Hot green tea was burnt.Putting add ons on the side could help. There is nothing spicy no matter the name. There is visible gunk on the utensil holder and the furniture needs a coat of something making it not have grooves to hold the gunk and bacteria. ?
Food is fantastic! It does not disappoint the Mi-so Hot is my favorite the OG was also good the kids loved it. Don't pass this place up without trying
I know it's one of the most popular Ramen in Austin by Austin standards but just cuz its popular don't mean its good. I got the Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen and it it's just blah. The broth was luke warm, the noodles are small for children and almost raw, and tons of green onion, I personally don't mind but others might. Usually I would blame Execution for the poor Ramen but its the same at all their locations. I don't ever see myself trying them again. I probably would consider this the Panda Express of Ramen places. Thank you for bringing Ramen to Austin but they are not for me. If you never had semi fresh Ramen, then you can give this place a try otherwise you can pass and get some nice Ramen packs from HMart.
Food was outstanding definitely worth the price for the larger portions. The mi-so hot was amazing. the og was also good for are older kids who don't like to much heat.
Dang! This was sooooo good! Definitely recommend and I can’t wait to come back! Food was hot and fresh! Spicy was spicy lol! Noodles were on point!
Ramen Tatsu-ya can be counted on for consistent, high quality, high flavor, fresh ramen. It is delicious and I always go out of my way to enjoy it when in Austin.
