I got a regular poke rice bowl with white rice, cubed salmon, pineapple, corn, scallion, edamame, cucumber, seaweed salad, cilantro, sesame seeds, crushed hot Cheetos, spicy house sauce, and sweet ginger sauce. The bowl was huge. I had enough to eat it for lunch and for dinner. You definitely get what you pay for, but I wish they had a smaller size. Raw fish is best when it’s really fresh, so this is not the type of food you want to have leftovers of.Overall I enjoyed the bowl and thought the fish tasted fresh. Next time I come I will probably try out their different sauces and toppings, but I do recommend the crushed hot Cheetos. It sounds like a strange topping, but I enjoyed the spice and crunch it added to the bowl.
The service here leaves a lot to be desired. The food is pretty meh. I don't think I'll be returning. They gave my pickup order to someone else (no problem), they started remaking it (all good), I went to the car to get my wallet, when I came back, the guy at the counter had left my food uncovered and on the counter and had started to help someone else... When I asked him if he had finished with the order he rolled his eyes and said "no"... Brought it up to the manager, she couldn't care less. Didn't even apologize.I won't be coming back, also, pleas wash your hands when preparing people's food. I saw 2 employees (manager included) touch the dirty kitchen door and then go and serve people without washing they're dirty hands... Unsanitary! What a shame.
My first experience with poke and it was delicious. I had their house ahi and spicy tuna with rice and "salad"...think deconstructed sushi but more grandiose. I may never go back to plain sushi. The staff is friendly and efficient makes a great meal. This is now my go to place for a raw fish meal. Unless I am far away from Poke House when the urge hits I see no reason to go elsewhere I honestly don't see how poke could be done any better than Poke House. If you have never tried poke make Poke House your first time so you start with the best!
Poke House Austin was great. The employees took the time to explain to me what a pokebowl was and where it originated. In my opinion it's like a giant sushi roll in a bowl just not tight like a sushi. I enjoyed it very much. Thank you guys for the great experience.
This is now my favorite fast casual poke place. Everything was customizable, the ingredients tasted fresh and I love that it is local. The balance of ingredients was a nice change of pace from rice-heavy dishes. Excellent as a post workout meal.
The experience I had here was that equivalent to standing in line at a cafeteria. Get in, get out. Food was okay. Will consider eating here for a healthy option, nothing more. Not really easy on the wallet either.Overall I thought the place has a variety of good food. It’s just not being backed up by the teams energy.
High quality poke place with rewards program but higher prices.I have frequented this place a lot. If you plan on coming here multiple times, sign up for their Fivestars rewards programs. You will get occasional discounts as well as points for each order that can be redeemed for free bowls.Like with most poke places, come early or during peak hours to get fresh proteins and toppings. With plenty of customizations to your bowl and a variety of toppings, sauces, and addons, this location is great if you like to try new things.Without any discounts, the price is on the higher end. While I love eating poke as it's something I don't get tired of, I can't really justify paying the high prices when it's really just a combination of different ingredients you can make yourself at home.If you like poke and the ability to customize, this is a great place! Just be prepared to pay higher prices if you want larger portions.
I used to love poke house but I have to admit the quality has been declining. On top of that, now it seems like the quantity is declining as well. On top at increasing the price, understandable with the inflation, but to shrink the pokerritos to a point where it's skinnier than a small water bottle is unacceptable. I used to always have a hard time eating their pokerritos because they were so fat.. hopefully someone addresses this..
This is my favorite poke in Austin. It's always fresh and they have a lot of really tasty options and sauces for your poke bowl. I also love their pokerritos. Clever!
So good, so fresh, you can choose yourself all the ingredients that you want in so it suits your taste, good quantity too.
