The lady working the counter scooped sides with the enthusiam of a hostage. Food was good. Not a great value.
It's been a month since our last visit and today was very disappointing. The brisket and sausage was great but I found egg shells in the potato salad and the potato pieces were so big they just tasted like boiled potatoes. The pineapple slices in the fruit salad were brown. I'm sure this was a rare occasion and things will be better next time.Great BBQ and awesome service. I highly recommend the beef sausage, it's extremely good! We get the 2 meat plate that comes with 2 sides and Texas toast. It's plenty of food, usually we have leftovers. Every time we come the staff are really friendly! They answer any questions and joke around with us.
I love the food at Pok-E-Jo's. It's always delicious and very consistent. The service has always been really good as well. They get busy during the week at lunch time so come early.
Great BBQ. Pork Ribs and Brisket a must try.
Food is always fresh and delicious! Customer service is great and friendly every single time. Never a bad experience. Also, the jalapeño cornbread is the best!
Such good food, I've loved eating here for 15+ years. My favorite is the chopped brisket sandwich.Their prices are higher now, by a noticeable amount. It used to be a pretty affordable, almost cheap, meal. Not anymore. Family meal for four cost me $70 which is akin to a normal sit down restaurant. But honestly, I don't mind paying higher prices since their food is good and I hope they stay in business.
Food was amazing but I somehow threw up the brisket they had. Must of been my stomach but it was good going down so.
The food was good but it was a bit over priced. I’ve had barbecue that was better and cheaper. But the sides were delicious! I loved that there was variety of toppings to put and drinks! There was different types of pickles so I was HAPPY. The employees were so friendly and helpful.
Hours are wrong on website. They close at 7 so don’t try to come here for dinner. Sad because Pokejos is my favorite bbq
Not bad ! I wasn’t expecting good. AND IT WAS SURPRISINGLY GOOD! “Restaurants” are usually ok in the BBQ arena. Poke e Joe’s was pretty good. My niece goes there almost frequently I mean like when she wants bbq. My husband is pretty picky and he liked it. So we might be returning & I say might because there’s not to many and not one near us. But i would recommend this bbq place to anyone. They ran out of banana pudding so it must be good. I have to go back to try some. We ate pork ribs, moist brisket, sausage and all good. The sides we tried were potatoe salad, Mac and cheese, green beans casserole, coleslaw (slightly sweet kind) ALL GOOD. Fresh sweet tea & Red Flash soda YUM. Service at the Lamar & S Capital of Texas Highway location was good.
