We found Poe’s because it was behind our hotel, and we are so happy we did! We had two empanadas and two rice bowls. The rice bowels are amazing. I had the pork bowl and my wife had the chicken bowl. They were both amazing. Poe even came out and talked to us for a bit. He is a super nice guy, and we are glad we got to hear his story! We will definitely be going back next time we are in Austin.
Dunno what happened to this place after moving to fifth street but it’s the first I’ve been since seventh street and my sandwich was a lot smaller, burnt(including the pork), and the tostones came with ketchup instead of mojo? It’s disappointing because this place was so much better when I had it at the old location.I’d give it two stars but I’m just hoping I came on an off night.
Excellent food! Meeting the owners and seeing how much they love their work was an added bonus. Will be visiting again.
Best rice bowls in town! Sauces are also delicious. Great customer service.
Best food truck in Austin! If you haven’t tried this little hole in the wall your missing out!! Food was too good to wait for a picture ?
Poe’s Fuego is absolutely awesome! Great food and an amazing variety. Highly recommend. This guy knows what he’s doing. Don’t miss out!!

great rice, great seasoning of meat and the tostones are a treat
Randomly ended up ordering take out from here and it was quite the tasty surprise. Got the rice bowl with the fish and it was very delicious. It also felt very fresh. Guy at the food truck was kind too. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend this place.
Poe, the owner, is a really cool dude and made us some amazing cubano sandwiches. The pork was simply delicious and you can tell it’s made with lots of love. We will definitely be back again. Also it’s a plus they’re open til 10 pm since a lot of surrounding restaurants close at 8 pm.
