It was gross, wish I had read the reviews on here first ? I got to the end of my meal and realize that my chicken was not cooked. I’m not even sure how much uncooked chicken I ate ? when I approached someone about it all he could say was “Sorry, it’s not usually like that.” ?♀️ It may not usually be like that but it was this time and it was disgusting. This place needs to be shut down.
Pei Wei used to be of decent quality. We referred to it as PF Changs to-go as it was created by that company as a fast service version. The food used to be virtually identical. Unfortunately the company was spun off and sold a couple times. The quality of food has declined substantially. We ordered several dishes and were disappointed in all of them. The orange chicken was flavorless pucks all of the same size and shape; soggy and covered in strangely flavored sauce. We had a second chicken dish that was virtually the same. So much so that I don't even remember what it was called. The lo mein noodles were fine, but saturated in way too much sauce. The fried rice was a tragedy; closer to oatmeal than a rice bowl. It was what we believed to be whole grain rice saturated in a sauce. Sauce in fried rice? No egg in sight. They managed to cook white rice well enough however. When we first walked in I was surprised. There used to always be a line to the door, a full dining area, and the typical sights and sounds of an Asian kitchen busy at work. Now I realize why. There were maybe 2 other groups present while we were there. The'kitchen' was strangely quiet. Microwaves instead of pots and pans I suppose. It's no longer the same restaurant it used to be by any measure. A sad indictment of the latest corporate owner trying to squeeze the last dime out of its patrons.Save your time and money. You'll have better luck at, gulp, Panda Express. Better yet, hit up a locally owned Asian restaurant. We won't make this mistake again.... cue the templated corporate response below ...
BEWARE! This food was horrible! Got 4 entrees to go with fried rice and they were containers full of mushy soup! Containers were full of mushy rice and meat floating in greasy looking liquid. We couldn’t even tell the entrees apart! Yuk! We couldn’t even eat it. 4 orders of Egg rolls were over cooked and not fresh..terrible. $86 down the toilet. save your money! I should have taken pictures. Never again! One star is too much!
Disgusting! I'm really wondering how this place got so bad when it used to be so good. My last two visits where I wanted to give it one more try were disasterous! Meal was soggy, disproportional ingredients, left off the peanuts, paid for extra fried rice- received 2tbs worth not fried just lightly sautéed, barely warm... terrible!!!!! No drink machine; In house eating gets extremely small portions on plastic:((( RIP Pei Wei you'll be gone soon.
Don't advertise and allow people to select "curbside" if you will make them enter vehicle info during checkout, park in a designated space, have them SMS their arrival and space number, acknowledge said SMS with a SMS response, and then just leave the food on the counter for 10mins or so until the customer goes inside to see what's up.
Have not been here in a long time and remember the food being much better and fresher than this experience. Had the Mongolian beef w broccoli and the flavor was all salt, terrible! So bad in fact, I almost asked for my money back. I can check this chain off my list now
Very disappointed! Haven’t been there in awhile since it was so bad the last time. My husband wanted to give it another try. Wish we hadn’t! The Kung Pao chicken was not the same as it use to be. We both had Kung Pao chicken and the chicken was different in his than mine. It wasn’t crispy! Mine was tender but not crispy. My husband’s was tough and flat pieces of chicken where mine was little nuggets. The fried fried now has bean sprouts! Why? It never had before except the last time. You need to go back to the way it was a year or so ago. But, I don’t think we will ever be back.
Wow, what has happened to this restaurant??? The food was still good, but the place seemed dirty, the bathroom smelled, and the staff argued to some extent about the heat level on food that clearly stated it was hot on the menu. Plus - why no cold beer??? Just one bottle in the ice bin and, when asked, the clerk said - sorry, that's it. Maybe new management?? I know we will think twice before going back, even though we have gift cards.
Oh Pei Wei, you were one of my favorite restaurants to eat something different from the classic "Chinese food". But once again it shows that a "new administration" or as you called it (new recipes from Chef so and so) is causing the food businesses to decline. My condolences, for me and my family you died since in the 3 different locations the recipes are not the same, you cannot make substitutions in the dishes and they have neither cutlery nor sauces. Speechless
Super disappointed with my visit! Portions have gotten way smaller than they used to be and food is not that delicious anymore. Pei Wei used to be a regular stop for carry out on my way home but I don’t think I’ll be stopping by anymore. Prices seem to have increased with a concurrent decrease in quality. Last evening we got the Thai cashew chicken and the Thai dynamite tofu. Both entrées were sub-standard compared to how they used to be before. There was no dine-in (carry out only) at the restaurant either so that for me was the trifecta! Will not be returning anytime soon!!P.S. I usually take pictures of my food but this time it wasn’t happening!
