Fourth of July is my birthday and Aaron was awesome every time we spoke. I had called a few weeks in advance to ask some questions about it being a holiday weekend and the choices between a full single flavor cake or the individual cake slices. He gave me all the info I needed and I ended up going with the individual slices because I simply could not choose a specific flavor. They all sounded amazing! We ended up getting a slice of every single flavor except the Banana Pantsuit (personal preference), which included his seasonal coconut slice! Y'all. Y'ALL. Every single flavor was so SO good! You absolutely CANNOT go wrong with any of them. My personal favorites came down to Pistachio Oasis and Coffee Fox but in no way were the others any less delicious, only personal preference. We will definitely be returning and I will be directing anyone asking me about a good cake bakery in Austin to Paper Route Bakery. Absolutely scrumptious.Huge thank you to Aaron also for being so kind and professional!
I went to this bakery based on the numerous reviews and pictures of their cookies and scones. The first day I went by, there was a sign up that said Sold out, closed at 6. It is only open from 4-7. The second time I tried at 4:30, the man said they only sold cake slices now and most of the ones on the window menu were not available. I was told there were fewer options during the week.
We got the Chocolate Fainting Couch, and it was magnificent. If you don't buy this cake, then it's because you don't want any fun or joy in your life. I'm sad for you. WHEN you order this cake, you should order two so that you have one for your event and one to eat later after you get high. Get the chocolate on top, and have them write something on the cake. Go enjoy life. As we've all learned in the last few years, life is short. Carpe diem. Carpe crustulam. I think this is the best cake we've ever had. No joke.
I HIGHLY recommend this bakery. The location is adorable, and the owner was amazing from start to finish. My birthday cake(the Vanilla Au Revoir) was exactly how I imagined, and tasted great! It was seriously one of the best cakes we've ever had, and you can tell how passionate he is about his work. We will 100% be visiting again if in the Austin area
Hands down the best cake I have ever had. A little on the pricey side but SO worth it!! We ordered the chocolate, coffee, and strawberry and each one was incredible.
Okayyyy but a slice (or 2) is SO worth it! I had a slice each of the coffee and pistachio cakes and both flavor combinations were on point! I loved the crust of the cake and the fluffiness of the icing. So lovely and indulgent!
We got the Chocolate Fainting Couch cake from Aaron at Paper Route Bakery. Y'all. It's the gentle warmth from a fireplace during winter. It's a smooth first date in springtime. It's flavorful and fluffy without having the sickly sweetness of a grocery store cake. It manages to be delicious without being overpowering - so in a word, elegant. It's rich without flaunting its money. And I've gotta say, interacting with Aaron was such a pleasure. He's got a clear passion for the cakes and is wonderful to speak with. Go try a slice from em today!

We ordered a Strawberry Book Club cake for my partner's birthday, and I think we found the place we'll be ordering birthday cakes from for the foreseeable future. Absolutely fantastic.
Ordered a birthday cake - a custom chocolate buttercream. It was death by chocolate in the best way! Super moist cake with delicious flavoring. The owner and assistant were incredibly helpful and took the time to perfect the cake while I was waiting. Highly recommend this bakery!
