We had an awesome meal here tonight. Had a bit of a wait for a table, but enjoyed a drink outside while the kids played and we waited.Our waitress was wonderful and we enjoyed our food and the wine selection. The braised pork with spatzel and bananas fosters crisp were the standout dishes, but honestly everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Glad we finally made it- love this addition to the neighborhood.
We were so excited to try a newer restaurant in our area. We were so incredibly disappointed. Our food was so late and arrived cold. We waited for over two hours to eat. Two hours for a salad. We then got charged for an extra expensive entree that we never got. I have been in the food industry so understand short staff and what’s going on in the world and usually very willing to take on a bad meal if it’ll help our service industry. I have never wrote a review until now. However, the manager was very unwilling to make anything right and was very rude when we asked for our food to be fixed. Be prepared for late, cold food, and a manager who is unwilling to help accommodate all the issues your table will likely have. The serving staff was great. Unfortunately, we won’t be back to this establishment.

Absolutely great south side restaurant. It's right up there with Carve.Steak Frites was tender, flavorful, and fries were great. The red chutney was delicious and cooked MR. I loved the Fish and Chips. The fish was not fishy at all, fried to perfection, and the tarter was so good.Beer was cold, full bar, inside and heated outside area. The outside also has a playground for the kiddos. Great place, can't wait to go back
Wonderful Valentine's Day dinner at Oasthouse Slaughter Lane last night. Johnny (manager) got us a beautiful table right by the fireplace!We come here regularly. Food is really good (the Schnitzel is one of our favorites) and reasonably priced, the desserts are amazing, and shout out to the bartender for making very yummy cocktails.Also, nice bar seating and TVs and selection of (draft) beers. Happy this place opened in our neighborhood.
Had the fish & chips. Fish was crispy, fries & tartar sauce were tasty.
3.5 stars. Burgers and chicken schnitzel sandwiches were very good. Fish & chips - the fish was not crispy
We found ourselves saying we wished there were more restaurants near us, so we decided to try something fairly new. It was a good experience. Hostess was considerate. Furniture was nice. Waitress had a great disposition. We tried 5 of the cocktails. Several were outstanding, but all were good. The chicken schnitzel plate was also outstanding. Fried cheese curds and falafel burger were also very good. I loved the sliced apples for the kids - a good portion, fresh and pretty. Very happy with our experience and hope Oasthouse succeeds easily in this location.
Service was great and food quality compared to value was really good, I can't remember the last time I left with less than $100 for a dinner.Here is what we ordered:1. Beer bread: It was our favorite, it was super fresh with a slight sweetness that paired perfectly with the cheese. I wouldn't have guessed that it is bread if I just saw it without knowing what it is, as a matter of fact, the people sitting next to us thought it is meatloaf with mashed potates2. Carnitas poutine: the fries were really good, and the overall flavors were good, specially a bite with the goat cheese, but I would be more interested in trying something different rather than ordering it again in the future3. Falafel fritters: those missed the mark, they were mushy from the inside, the sauce sounded tastier and more interesting on paper than real life.4. Fish & Chips: really liked the batter, it was super crispy and good. Fries were excellent as well.. I wish the fish was a little bit salted before it was fried, but I will definitely order it again.
