Birria has been around for many years in Mexican cuisine and has recently grown very popular. This vegan Birria will make you question everything that you ever thought you knew about the original version of birria. Do not share your plate or you will be left with nothing for yourself. It is truly to die for. The staff is incredibly sweet and helpful. And just to add a little more about what there is to love, THEY ARE ON THE NORTH SIDE! It's so hard to find vegan food AND birria in North Austin. This is an absolute must try!
Absolutely AMAZING! Best tacos in Austin. Vegan or not this food feels like home in Cali!
Both the birria tacos and flautas were amazing !! As a vegetarian, I appreciate having a variety of options and getting to try these amazing dishes! Will definitely be back.
AMAZING FOOD!!! ? HANDS DOWN THE NUMBER 1 VEGAN RESTAURANT IN AUSTIN! SO MUCH FLAVOR, THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC MEXICAN EXPERIENCE ??
Absolutely delicious! I’ve been there twice, once at the truck and once at the brick-and-mortar store, and both times were super tasty. I tried the birria tacos and the carne asada fries, both super flavourful and made with very high-quality ingredients. Both times I went with omnivores, and they all agreed that the food was fantastic and they didn’t miss the meat at all. Their queso is also to die for, which surprised me because I’m not usually a queso fan!
I've had the opportunity to try Nissi VegMex twice this week because of their soft opening! Grand opening is tomorrow 4/30! The first time I visited, I had the taco plate with pastor and carne asada. It was really delicious and was accompanied with rice and beans. Although the tacos were really flavorful, the provided salsa is the punch the tacos need. There are three salsas, red, orange, and green. I really liked all three, but the spiciness of the orange was my favorite! ? it's almost like that yellow bird habenero salsa. The green is also really good, but doesn't have the heat on it. Although the tacos were really good, the burrito was so freaking delicious! ? I had the steak burrito which had rice and beans inside. It was really tasty! Loved it and can't wait to go back! Birria tacos ? and burrito ? pictured below! All packaging was compostable!
Food was so delicious. I ordered the chalupas and my husband got the taco plate. We both took our first bite and said, oh man, this is so good! The salsa that comes with it is spicy and very tasty. I'll be taking my friends from out of town to check out this place for sure.
This place serves the absolute best vegan tacos, period. Not just in Austin. Not just in Texas. My personal favorite are the carne asada but I've been thoroughly impressed by everything on the menu. The owner, Sergio, seriously puts his entire heart into his business and it shows. I am extremely excited for his food truck to become an actual dine-in location, and am excited to be a customer along the journey.
A plant-based, Mexican food truck is a dream come true!! Nissi’s tacos and nachos were all so delicious and huge portions too!! Top notch food and service! The art surrounding the food trucks is worth checking out too.
These may be the finest tacos (full stop) that I’ve ever had. Long time vegans with marvel at the gorgeous flavors and texture, while you omnis will just think it’s an obnoxiously good taco. Either way, go there and eat everything you can. Plus, the staff are dang sweethearts!Pictured: Carne Asada and Al Pastor taco plate.
