Love our apartment. It’s a great location. Love how it’s newly renovated and is not an enclosed apartment. Love the amenities. Maintenance crew is really nice and people at the front desk are really nice.
Just moved in to the Muse on SOCO.We are very happy we chose these apartments.Read all the reviews good and bad. Overall our choice was based on availability, location and cost.Location is 5 stars.Availability- we got lucky. The office staff worked very hard to help us find a unit and kept communications open with us throughout the process.Cost is 4 stars for us. This is Austin after all. If you want to live downtown your gonna have to pay.So far all our needs and concerns have been taken care of by the Office and Maintenance staff.I have had contact with the majority of the staff. They are helpful, considerate and professional.Glad to be here.
The staff is amazing and they are all very attentive. Everyone here is somquick to answer questions or resolve any type of issue that arises.
I lived at the Muse apartments for a couple years and am very excited to say I no longer live there. They handled the aftermath of the winter storm terribly. They never kept us in the loop about repairs and blatantly ignored emails I sent to them– one containing images of a hole in our exterior wall created by a company they hired to fix our walls. (My cat disappeared for part of a day before I discovered the hole, but luckily a fellow tenant found her.)On top of the lack of communication from the staff, the Muse also acts as a vacation rental property. We were unfortunate enough to live next to one of these short-term rentals where large groups would have parties–even during peak pandemic times. The 20% rent increase after all the erratic work our unit received was the last straw. The Austin real estate market is crazy right now, so I understand increasing rent…however, 20% seems a bit steep. And I heard from another tenant that his rent went up even more than that...For comparison, my partner and I managed to find a much nicer house to rent in a less pretentious area for less than the rent at the Muse.
I took the opportunity to tour on June 18, 2021 for a two bedroom unit, despite the more negative reviews because I absolutely loved the location and the shaded amenities. The following morning, we decided to apply but found that the rent had increased by almost $250 overnight - no problem. We called the office, thinking that our quoted prices would be valid and they’d take the sale but they didn’t believe us and in fact doubled down by saying the system was wrong yesterday.I’m pretty disappointed in the professionalism and lack of courtesy because we held off on another apartment complex (that we lost) by trying to get a hold of them this morning. Honestly, I would just recommend avoiding this property at this rate.
I've lived here for a while, and I love it here. The location can't be beat, and the staff is amazing and really helpful. Leticia especially is the best. Also, the head maintenance guy, Chris, he's amazing too! I had a small leak in my sink, and a problem with my air conditioning. He is super knowledgeable about all things fix it, and even more importantly a great communicator and very responsive about getting things done quickly, and worked around my work schedule. Without my even asking for it, he even brought a portable air conditioner to keep things cool in the short period before it was permanently fixed. It's the crew here, that really makes this place special!

Upon arriving to Austin, the Muse was on our list due to the perfect location and closer to downtown. The management seemed very welcoming and we trusted that they were honest about the quoted prices after we were given a tour. The next morning we were officially about to apply when we noticed that the rent increased by $250 in less than 24 hours. Caught by surprised we contacted management the following morning and they blamed that their system and website were incorrect. It’s very unfortunate the poor management and lack of honesty since we were very close to a sale. This also caused us to hold off on another apartment complex. I felt as though our time was wasted and we missed opportunities on better apartments with better deals
Biggest problem - shared parking with Equinox gym. Gym members take up almost all parking (exceeding their designated spots) in the garage and often times hold up the line to exit the garage because they don't validate their parking. Equinox owns 3 buildings that used to belong to the Muse and they are run down and broken into on a daily basis. There is litter and garbage everywhere and security doesn't respond to any concerns or calls for those buildings because they aren't owned by The Muse. The area over there is unsafe at night time. Management is unprofessional and ignores requests for assistance or information. They will ignore your emails or phone calls if you have an issue whether it's a maintenance problem, payment problem, etc. During the winter storm, they came into our apartment and removed electrical covering and left exposed wires out with no notice of entry. The walls and floors are extremely thin, you can hear your neighbor at all hours of the day. The exterior of the buildings are dilapidated and falling apart with no maintenance for over 4 months. There are major bug problems as well. A lot of extra fees once you sign your lease and Valet Trash often neglects trash leaving the hallways to the apartment dirty and inviting more bugs.
This review is mainly for Robert Jordan, head of maintenance. Super personable and always handled things in a timely manner. Front office staff is way better than the previous group. Did their best to handle the snowpocalypse, ultimately not their fault. Roscoe Properties on the other hand, not the biggest fan of them.
