This place is a great salad ? and sandwich ? shop! Modern Market Eatery has a great selection of bowls, salads, and sandwiches! Definitely try the Winter Harvest Salad (though it might be a bit spicy ). Service is quick and the ambience ? is great! I wish their prices ?️ were lower!
Disappointed. This place was awesome a couple years ago. Flat iron steak is advertised on their site as being “cooked to a perfect medium rare” and it’s definitely well done, dry, cold, flavorless. the potatoes were also tough and cold. $10 for 1/2 salad and the highlights are inedible.
Pizza didn't arrive with the rest of our order. We called to let them know. Almost an hour after our initial delivery time, I received a cold bbq pizza instead of a fresh pepperoni pizza, which was the original order.As far as the bbq pizza goes, I had to reheat it and I'd say it's not as good as a frozen California Pizza Kitchen of the same flavor and style.
Prices are just way too high for food that has absolutely no seasoning, flavor, sauce, or anything on it. Like, none. When I say no effort was put into making this food, every element in the meals I bought could have been made by a college student half asleep and on a budget. But you’re paying $20+ per person on it :). And the portion sizes are SO tiny! Order the mashed sweet potato as a side and you’re paying for less than 1/4th of a sweet potato.The steak was about 1/3rd the amount of an actual regular sized steak, and was so tough and dry it seriously feels and tastes like this stuff was sitting out all day just to be microwaved before serving it to me.Is it so wrong to not want to spend $20+ per person and still be hungry after ?
The food is amazing. Truly. I am a huge fan of the food.And it is much improved when they get your order correct, which is maybe 1/3 of the time. Maybe. It’s usually close, but off in a way that is frustrating because its nearly always a different priced item and not in your favor. No remedy available, and the food is so good, I keep ordering anyway. I just know its going to have a surprise and waste $5-15. Now you know.
I was in the mood for a light, heathy meal (after all the BBQ from the night before) and found it here - a nice tomato soup and a tuna poke bowl, with some iced tea, just perfect. I ate upstairs and had the whole section to myself, which was nice as well.
I didn't want much to eat so ordered the kids portion of mac n cheese. It arrived barely warm. I asked for it to be heated up as I don't like cold food. They said they have no way of heating up food. Got a refund and went elsewhere.
Modern Market makes great pizza. However, when you order a pizza from this location for delivery, they never seal the pizza box with a sticker, so you don't know if the delivery person has been inside your pizza. I asked modern Market to address this issue over a year ago, and I have yet to receive a pizza with a sticker on it, including the one I ordered just now.
Food was good. However, this was the only place during our visit at Austin that could improve on customer service. Dined yesterday and the lady got our order wrong. Rather than offering to fix it, she showed me the receipt she didn't give me with a double item I didn't order. We ended just eating the food to avoid any further negative feelings.
No one working here is wearing a mask. If they have the mask on, it is not actually covering their face. Absolutely would never come back. It's abhorrent.Also, it is so incredibly slow. If you're looking to get a simple meal within 20 minutes, go elsewhere.
