Milky Way shakes is the greatest way to stay cool in the brutal Texas heat. I’m not even vegan and I can’t stop from forcing my wife to go as frequently as I can. The food truck park they’re in is all vegan food, so feel free to pick up an amazing vegan taco (or two or three) and plan on an amazing shake to end with for dessertSome things to note:- pick a shake, pick a base (add toppings for extra if you’d like- they’re very popular, so expect to wait 10-15min if you walk up and order- Buzz aldrin with chocolate base is the best order, just trust me- they have 2x specials per month, so keep an eye out for new stuff since those change frequently
Wow this was delicious. Probably the nicest shake I’ve ever had! Flavour was so clever and fun and the lady serving was super friendly. Couldn’t rate this any higher and will be back.My only thing would be - they should have a bigger sign that the shakes are vegan- its not totally clear and I nearly didn’t order as I thought these were made with milk, and I nearly missed out! So happy I re-read the menu!
Star berry shake is delicious. The coconut milk in the ice cream base gives it an almost cheesecake taste. I got a large to share with my boyfriend, but I’ll definitely have to get my own next time. I didn’t know they were vegan until I arrived, but I definitely wouldn’t be able to tell unless I saw the note on the menu. The merengue pieces were melt in your mouth! $9 for a 16 oz, so it isn’t cheap, but it’s definitely a nice treat
Delicious, adorable, and vegan - what more could you want? Love the floral & fruity flavors like the violet ? and star berry lemon cloud ??
Very excited to find this place! I’ve always dreamed of a vegan milkshake place and here it is hiding in a vegan corner of Austin! Cute atmosphere & absolutely delicious shakes ? I would visit here again if I had the time before heading out of town. The girls were nice and they even saved my purse for me. I left it at their table and after an hour I finally made it back to hopefully find it after leaving it behind. I wish I could pack them up and take them with me back to me home town. Stop and get yo vegan milkshake already!
Great little spot! My boyfriend and I came here for dessert tonight since we're both dairy sensitive - he got the chocolate eclipse, I got the grackle massacre. They were really good and we both enjoyed them, def come here if you're in the mood for a good shake.
Milky Way Shakes is such a gem, I especially love trying their specials, they never disappoint! Everything they make is incredible, if something is not naturally gluten free they can usually substitute (like gluten free brownies for regular brownies, etc.) Highly recommend!!
I remember first trying Milky Way Shakes waaaaaay back when they were tucked away at the old Spider House complex. I ordered a shake and was enjoying it when my friend met me there and went to order one too. She came back with it and was raving about how delicious it was. "I can't believe they're vegan!" she said. Wait. What?? I literally had no idea they were vegan! That's how indistinguishable it is from a traditional shake that uses milk-based products. So if you're like me and would normally scoff at vegan bases foods but are growing increasingly (and alarmingly) lactose intolerant -- Milky Way Shakes is the place for you. You can finally enjoy a milk that is, again, INDISTINGUISHABLE from a milk-based shake without the repercussions. All of the regular flavors are good (The Starberry is my favorite -- basically strawberry lemon curd shake) but my pro tip is to ask what monthly special they have going on. It's always something seasonal, delicious and fun.
1st time here, try vegan milkshakes: oreo borealis and special: the king of carrot flowers. Really delicious champ!!
My boyfriend (who usually scoffs at vegan foods, especially ice creams) and I both devoured our shakes! SO GOOD. We tried the Oreo Borealis and a seasonal carrot cake flavor. I can't wait to go back.
