This place is absolute, always crowded but is nice most of the time. I would really wish people can respect other people most of the time but customers will be costumers. Smh. Other than that, the food here is pretty good its not bad most of the time and the service is great but ofc that depends on the servers. Really respect them always for their hard work to get the food running and giving great service.

A local recommended Maudie's to us when we asked about a Tex-Mex place. The service was fast and good, and so was the food. Simple, but various, dishes. Just what we were looking for. We ate on the covered porch.

It was an ok experience here for me. I didn't really enjoy my order, but maybe that's just me. I got the Burrito Carnitas and I didn't particularly enjoy the salsa verde on it. The carnitas themselves were a little dry too. The drinks however, were tasty and strong. This was a decent establishment for me, but not good enough for me to return.P.s. didn't take pictures of their food cause I was drunk for their drinks!

Place is a trap (at first glance, a busy scene looks promising). Imagine waiting +30mins to pay $13 for x2 shrimp tacos and a small side of beans. They were also pretty mediocre.Someone else said it here which I think sums up this location. "half an hour wait for uninspired food." Ain't that the truth ... Lol

Maudie’s is a well known consistent eatery that is a staple of all the folks in the Tarrytown area of Austin. They not only have fantastic Tex-Mex standards such as tacos, migas, fajitas and enchiladas, but they also make a nice burger and fries. The inside decor is very nice with a wall of backlit tequila bottles and local art by Tim Sabo. Speaking of tequila, I have never been disappointed by a margarita here. The sidewalk patio dining is also a very pleasant atmosphere. My go-to dishes are the Sausage Migas or the Enchilada’s Josie style, I recommend going with one cheese and one ground beef. This is place is almost alway busy during the main dining hours so go at odd hours if you wish to avoid the crowd and any extended wait times. I could eat here several days a week and be perfectly happy. Good food and good people too. The wait staff and management are extremely friendly, check this place out next time you are in the central/west Austin area. There was even one day last week I went to Maudie’s Cafe twice in one day!

The food was descent. Too much meat sauce on the enchiladas, they were drowning in it. Service was wishy washy. They seemed very unorganized and everyone was overly flustered during a relatively slow time of day. We had a hard time getting something as simple as plates for the appetizers and ended up doing without because we couldn't get anyone's attention. One person in our party received their food right after we ordered while the rest waited an additional maybe 15 minutes. Overall just an odd experience.

I'm from out of town and I love to experience different restaurants and flavors.Random pick of today was this restaurant. This place has an option for outdoor and indoor settings.Unique decoration on the walls.Music is unexpectedly catering the culture of the customers rather than what the restaurant advertises for which is Tex-Mex.Atmosphere is wonderful either way.Server was wonderful and very nice!Food wise, chips and salsa served at start. Salsa had the right amount of kick to it.Although it could use a bit more flavor (coming from someone that has perfected making salsa). You can tell how good a restaurant is by their beans and cheese tacos. So I had to order them to see if its worth coming back.Unfortunately the portion of beans was not filling. Just a quick smear like I'm dipping tortilla in beans for flavor. Cheese has great taste. Tortillas are store bought plane. Was it worth the $3 per taco? Not in my opinion. $1.25 maybe, but not 3.Cooks didn't have a well meal presentation. Meaning half my beans were on the plate that I had to scoop back into it.I wouldn't mind trying other things to see what else they offer. But not my choice of urgency to continue to explore.Restaurant has great potential!I still recommend giving a try as people have different taste for food, as I look for flavor and quality for myself.Enjoy your experience!

Had the lunch special.. service was fast and friendly.. outside patio has nice seating ...

Food was great! However they forgot a part of our order and had to correct it. This was during a lot of rush though, so it's fine. No other complaints otherwise. Great place to eat!

Its TexMex at its finest. I dont say this often about Mexican restaurants in Austin. This one is actually good. Remember its Texmex so dont compare it to authentic Mexican food.
