This spot was so charming!!Wait time:We went for Sunday brunch, arrived at 11 AM, and had to wait 30 minutes before our group of 6 was seated outside. Honestly not too bad considering we didn’t have a reservation!Atmosphere:The atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in a movie. We saw over 10 peacocks (including a white one) as well as their babies, so precious.Starters:The donut holes were delicious (it came with 5 donut holes), and they had a tasty cream drizzled on them.Cocktails:I got a back porch tea cocktail with vodka which was delicious, refreshing and not too strong.Food:I ate the biscuits and chorizo gravy and oh my gosh I wish I lived in Austin because I’d come back for those every weekend. So good!

Everything was great. Friendly and fast service. Nice outdoor and indoor seating. We ordered the fried green tomatoes, which come with a crab and corn salad. It was so good! Some of the best biscuits I’ve had with raspberry butter. The brisket hash was good too.

We had the most amazing brunch at Mattie's. Everything was absolutely delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly and the venue is beautiful. We sat outside and the even though the heat was borderline satanic, the fans and misters made it a comfortable experience. Of course, the peacocks were roaming around and added to the overall charm. If you are looking for a wonderful meal with a great atmosphere, do yourself a favor and book a table at Mattie's.

Great service and beautiful ambiance. The trees here are amazing! And there’s peacocks on the premise as well. Can’t believe I never knew this place existed. The fried chicken eggs benedict is delicious- ask to get a side of the gravy! Avocado toast also tasty. Enjoy!

Such a beautiful atmosphere to brunch in. I love the look of the old, well maintained house and beautiful grounds it sits on. The twinkly lights were beautiful, the peacocks were entertaining, and we couldn’t stop talking about how cute the place is. It’s tucked away from the city and feels like you’re in Savannah, Georgia. This will definitely be our “go to” brunch place every time we visit Austin from now on. Also, just a little tip, make sure you make reservations as far in advance as possible!

Wow. Thoroughly impressed.Such a lovely and comfortable place. The grounds and house are beautifully curated, like a precursor to your meal.Drinks: had the back porch tea with a lil Bulleit. Drink was perfect for this hot evening, cold, stiff but not over powering. The mint and lemonade toned down the whiskey. For the app, we had the fried green tomatoes that came with a shrimp and crab dip. Let me tell you, we could've ordered these all night. Superb. The tomatoes were sliced thin and had this cornmeal batter, making them super crispy. Pairing them with the shrimp and crab dip was just heaven. Our mains were fried chicken and the pork ribs. Both were stupendous. Chicken was lightly battered but still super crispy and juicy, which we loved. The ribs were well smoked, had a light coat of bbq sauce and just so tender. Super impressed! Our sides that came with the mains were equally stellar: gouda and bacon mashers, red potato salad, cole slaw and sid salad. There wasn't really any favorites in this group as we kept eating esch others sides.Service: awesome and super attentive.I've found a new date night spot, as it can be intimate, yet casual and the food is just fantastic.

Ate so much I almost popped! This food was phenomenal, the outdoor seating was gorgeous. A lot of shaded area. The peacocks walking around were adorable and fun. Service was excellent. Don’t miss their cocktail menu. Really great stuff!

I absolutely love the property and it's beautiful history and was excited about hosting my friend's baby shower there, but unfortunately all of my voicemails, emails and my message via the website were all left unanswered, so we are going to have to book elsewhere. Nobody ever answers the phone, either. It's so disappointing because this seems like the perfect spot, but I have been reaching out since last month to no avail.

My cousin and I ate at Mattie's on a fun weekend in Austin. You should make time (and room in your tummy) to come here! The beautiful property is tucked away in a residential area as it was Mattie's home. We were a little late for our reservation because we took a couple of wrong turns, but we were still seated. The ambience is wonderful! Amy, our server, was the perfect touch to our evening and made our dining experience exceptional. She shared the history of the home, and while we were eating, I loved how she told us she knew exactly what we were feeling when we couldn't find the words to say how good the food was!! The food portions are very generous. We couldn't eat half of our food and we really tried. I loved the Fried Green Tomatoes with Crab & Shrimp Salad and I'm ready to drive back to Austin at the thought of the Grilled Pork Ribs served with some of the best potato salad this picky potato salad eater has ever had. Get the Hummingbird Cake to go because you will be too full to eat it there, and you will be kicking yourself if you do not try it. And y'all, there are peacocks on the property! Highly recommended, can't wait to go again!
