I go to Manuel's every chance I get. The food, ambience, and patio make it one of the most unique and fantastic restaurant in Austin. I highly recommend this amazing establishment. Additionally I recently hosted an event for 50 people at Manuel's. Jenn and Eddy were fantastic to work with and made the entire experience stress-less and seamless!! The food was delicious and everyone had a fantastic time!!
Downtown location closed so we went out to arboretum .. had cucumber lime and watermelon martinis.. tried shredded chicken mole and traditional ceviche . Delicious and a meal For 2 In itself. My husband tried Chile relleno which had elote corn and rice..very spiced. Sever w fresh cold fruit. So nice .great service , large space, good AC , clean restrooms, plenty of parking and nice outdoor patio although way too hot to sit out today
It is mediocre at best. Food was flavorless. Drinks over priced watered down. Wait ridiculous ended up eating at bar. Over rated in our parties opinion.
I recently visited with some friends. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. They have a great outdoor patio area. They have amazing specialty Margarita's, I had the Prickly Pear. We had the mushroom quesadilla for an appetizer and it was good. For dinner I shared the Chicken Enchiladas and Shrimp Veracruz which were exceptional. And for dessert we had their famous Flan. I would come back here again and highly recommend it for any occasion. They have been in business for 30+ years and there is a reason why!
Great range off choices here. Great steak and seafood as well as TexMex fare. Be sure to try dessert
What can I say, I loved the atmosphere, the drinks were very well prepared, as for the service, perhaps it was the waiter who attended us who was not having a good day, he accidentally spilled the water on my sister-in-law, then we ordered red enchiladas and asked him if the sauce was spicy because my husband is allergic to hot peppers, he said no, 30 minutes later I came back with the dishes and when I saw the enchiladas I saw that they were not red, they were made of mole and although the mole is delicious and it is red I know what they are very spicy, the waiter argued with me saying that they were not mole and my husband took a little mole with a fork and immediately began to cough, they changed the enchiladas and brought the correct ones. And when paying the bill, they were incredibly charging us for the mole enchiladas!!!
The ambience was confusing for a Mexican restaurant. There’s small fountains outside. There an enclosed patio. The bar area near the front door which is also near the restrooms was stinky and it smelled like farts. The food was ok. The service was great. Juans ceviche had a ton of onions in it. The sopa de tres chiles was very good, just the right amount of spice. That was the highlight of our experience.
Great outdoor seating with a shady patio. My wife’s ceviche was on point. Other highlights include the mocktails and their mole sauce. Would recommend if you need an al Fresca (outdoor dining) option in the area. Really great regional Mexican food.
Manuel’s is one of the best restaurants in Austin for authentic Mexican food. We have eaten lunch & dinner there, been to happy hour etc. in the past. The food & drinks have always been fantastic! This time though, the service was severely lacking and hence the 4-star review. Our server Josue ignored our table so we had to reach out to him over and over! It seemed like after our server brought out our food, he couldn’t be bothered to come to our table because he was busy with other customers. We informed the manager about our experience and she gave us a gift card to make it up so we will be trying the restaurant at least one more time.
Good Mexican food.Great atmosphere for small gatherings.I recommend la parrillada, great tasting.Good service btw. They take all CC and cash.Free parking. ??
