Sunday early evening brought me to Mandala for romantic dining. My partner and I ordered the spring rolls with shrimp for starters and they were delicious with the peanut sauce. The lemongrass noodles with tofu was added along with the cajun fried rice. Both were very flavorful and fresh. Although I enjoy the energy of a full, bustling dinner space, if you desire low flow and quiet...go Sundays at 5:00pm. Great time. Catch a movie at Alamo!
I have only had their Tom yum soup but it never disappoints! I’ve only had their chicken one and it’s amazing! Servers and hosts are all friendly. Definitely a great spot for some good Asian cuisine. I’ll dine in next time!
Love this place! I’m a regular customer because of the Pad Kee Mao ??? I always get it with extra thai peppers and no broccoli. So good!!!
When we arrived to the place, there was literally nobody there. We didn’t finish the appetizer because it tasted old. We tasted the Pad Thai and didn’t even eat it — the chicken was old, the noodles tasted like old frying oil. Gross. No one apologized or refunded anything. Highly recommend to avoid. The server was nice.
I love this place! I went when they first opened and the quality of the food and cocktails hasn’t changed. Their seasonal crawfish is some of the best Viet Cajun seasoning in Austin (spicy but not salty). There is plenty of outdoor seating as well.
I love to come here ❤️Vy she very cute and good service.
It was my first time eating and taking out from Mandala. The flat rice noodles are the best I’ve had in all of Austin. The veggies are fresh; paired with the tofu and spicy/sweet sauce, the dish was delicious. The tofu spring rolls were just okay for $8, but the peanut sauce was a winner. It’s ridiculously priced if you ask me, but I’d come back.
Not sure why this place doesn't get more buzz. Everything we had was fantastic, including the cocktails, and they had some great gluten-free options for my wife. The rice pancake appetizer and mango sticky rice were real highlights. Also, we sat at the bar and the bartender was really nice even though she was slammed. Worth checking out.
I tried the Shaken ribeye and it was really good. The dish was big enough that I ate half of it.The four stars is because the service was very slow. The day I went there they had only one waiter for the whole restaurant.
Ordered food for takeout. Ordered the Basil Fried Rice WHICH WAS BURNT! It appears they burnt the bottom of the pan, mixed the rice around, packed it and gave it out. It's horrible that a restaurant would even do that! We ordered the vegetable Tom Yum Soup as well, which was very oily. We ordered two small soups and after literally one spoonful of it, we had to throw them out. We also ordered the Green Curry entrée which was ok, but lacked flavor. Don't understand why this restaurant would be rated so high. Definitely never coming back here.
