LoveJoy Bakery was beyond my expectations. Not only are the ingredients plant based, the showcasing of cake designs are beautiful. I ordered a very strawberry cake for my birthday and ate the entire thing in just two days haha. For a sugary masterpiece, this cake still felt light and fluffy. Highly recommend!! Did I mention they’re vegan? C’mon!
Rhonda baked the cake and cupcakes for my daughters first birthday. WOW! Not only were they absolutely beautiful but so delicious! We had a sunset theme and she made the most beautifully colored ombré frosting with flowers gold leaf and edible glitter. The cupcakes were vegan and all our guests said how delicious they were. Her rate was very affordable for such gourmet baked goods. 10/10 would recommend!

Lovejoy bakery made me the best vegan lemon cake, chocolate cupcakes and brownie bites for our baby shower. The flavors are delish, high quality ingredients and she truly pours her heart into her sweets.
We asked Rhonda to do the cake and cupcakes for my husband's 40th birthday party after she was recommended by Diana at VEGG Catering. It was fantastic. Rhonda is so friendly and quick to respond, and she even met me halfway between her home base and our remote party location to cut the cost of pickup/delivery. The cake itself was beautiful and delicious, and the cupcakes were OUTSTANDING. I'm one of those strange birds who doesn't really like cake, but I had to sit down for a minute after trying the berry berry cupcakes with raspberry lemon frosting. We'll never get a cake from anywhere else!
Rhonda made two wedding cakes for my wedding this past weekend, and they were stunning! Not only were the beautifully decorated with fresh flowers, but they were also SO incredibly delicious. My partner and I are vegan, and these are hands down the best vegan cakes in our opinion. Not to mention, all of our non-vegan guests adored the cakes and could not tell that they were plant-based. Rhonda was also very responsive and kind through the whole process. Highly recommend!!
We had the most beautiful wedding cake and cupcakes. Our guests were blown away at how delicious it tasted as well. Lovejoy Bakery did such an amazing job! Highly recommend!
Wow! The best birthday cake ever!!!
We visited Lovejoy a couple of times during our visit to Portland; we were staying in the Pearl District, and it was near our hotel. Our breakfast visit was great; we got a delicious morning bun with orange and cardamom. It had nice texture and sweetness, and the flavor combination worked. The coffee was smooth and drinkable, and bergamot tea hit the spot. Our lunch visit was also enjoyable. I highly recommend the turkey cranberry sandwich: the bread was perfectly toasted, the bacon was super crisp, and the combination of turkey, avocado, and cranberry really worked. It was sizable without being silly (i.e., too big to eat). A pulled pork sandwich was only okay; the brioche roll was good but the pulled pork flavor was average. Similarly, beef chili (the soup of the day) was decent, but not remarkable. The molasses ginger cookie was fantastic! Overall, a nice neighborhood spot. Lovely pastry selection and good service.
This is a marvelous neighborhood gem. A great location adds to the very friendly staff and some of the freshest and tastiest pastries I’ve ever had. Highly recommend .
