I wanted to like this place because the staff was so sweet and helpful but the food is aggressively average.I got a beef empanada, a cheese and spinach empanada, and their standard ceviche. The beef empanada has good flavor but there was almost no filling at all. The powdered sugar on top made it better. The egg inside was not helpful. The spinach and cheese empanada was also underwhelming and I couldn’t find any cheese in it at all. The spinach was bitter. I also prefer an empanada to be fried and these were baked but the dough was tender and tasted good. The fish part of the ceviche was fresh, had good texture and plenty of acid but the sides with it were both confusing and hard to eat. The crispy corn (?) lacked flavor and was hard to chew. The sweet potato was good but didn’t make sense with the fish. The other corn like thing was tough and had no flavor at all. The texture was likewise off putting. There is much better ceviche to be had in Austin.
Lima Criolla has a beautiful abundant menu! We had never had Peruvian food before and we were very satisfied with the flavors of every dish we ordered! My 9yo already asked when we are going to eat here again! 10/10 recommend!
We came for lunch. It's a great place if you're looking for something new. Very clean place. Amazing and fast service. I am not Peruvian, but I do not have a problem stating that this is as close to a great authentic Peruvian place. Will definitely return
Don’t be charmed by the fancy facade and signage. The restaurant from the inside is quite outdated and needs many changes.I’ll go over the negatives first.- the alley to the restrooms smells horrid! Please consider cleaning bathrooms frequently and leaving some scented sprays because in a closed space with 0 windows that poo smell is not pleasing at all.- the fan behind the bar can tell your place needs a major cleaning done. It is covered in dust and grease from over the years and very unattractive to the eye considering the prices.- the amount of food served is just bizarre. My plate was mounted with food and can br quite unappetizing to look at. Maybe charge less and serve lesser quantity so food doesn’t go to waste.- please stop using the same wash cloths to wipe counters. The whole place smelled like an old rag and again, doesn’t justify the experience somebody wants to have if paying $18-$20 for a plate of food.Positive- extremely friendly and nice people working here who are probably a bit overworked due to shortage in labor and that’s understandable.- food tastes decent but just the way it looks can be off putting due to the amount of food that’s being served. A lot!I wish the dine in experience can be improved along with the quantity of food so nobody feels like food is being wasted. The prices doesn’t justify the experience at all. If I’m spending over $50 for lunch then I can get better experience at some restaurant in Domain. I know there is potential and I hope you think about that. ?
To be fair, I only noticed this restaurant on the way to breakfast around the corner. It's been a while since I deviated from "my usual" spots so I returned to this area for lunch. Sunny weather with a light breeze made the patio seating a must. The sign says to alert staff for seating, so our small group went in and mentioned to the young woman who greeted us that our preference was outdoors. Her response was puzzling: "Is there seating open?" Well... it's not that large a restaurant, perhaps half the outdoor tables were occupied, there was only one couple inside, and you'd think staff would have a general sense of seating if they're regularly checking on diners. We sat and it became clear that the service is casual or inattentive enough to explain the initial interaction. After the initial water was brought out, our water glasses remained empty until after our meals. The food wasn't quick about arriving, and the order process was slow, making a noticeable delay in hydrating. When we were asked about our empty glasses, a bottle of still water was brought out and placed near me, so I poured it for the parched three of our party. I will say the server took her time to explain the menu options and apologized profusely when the first two items on of our group requested were out-of-stock. I enjoyed her humor and she interacted nicely--when she showed up. Two other women and one man came out at various points, and they seemed very focused on singular tasks so a lack of teamwork was evident as delays became more apparent throughout the visit. I really enjoyed the food. Solid flavors and pretty fresh tasting. Filling portions and distinct dishes will see me visiting again. I'll be sure it's on another day without a schedule so I can patiently wait; I'll also ask for a bottle of water for the table at the beginning of our meal.
Super amazing platform, easy to use and quick withdrawal. I have been using this platform together with the most recommended Forex strategy on the internet from Mrs Anita Crypto FX. and so far i have no complains, making close to $7000-$15000 on a weekly basis. She is really great, best in her field and unique among others. i am thankful and want you all to partake from her good works. Contact her via her Email: [email protected] WhatsApp: +12133736954
Great food!! If you have not tried the Pisco Sours!! It is a must!
I would give them negative points if possible. I have traveled many places in the US and around the world and always tried the local Peruvian restaurants including in Peru itself. This place is the absolute worst of all the Peruvian restaurants I’ve been to and all restaurants I’ve ever been to. The ambiance inside is horrible, dark, dirty, meek and you can definitely smell the toilet from anywhere inside the dinning room. The bathrooms are definitely a mess, so you can only imagine the state of places where you cannot see, like the kitchen. On top of that the food is mediocre, a far cry from the real good quality and great tasting Peruvian food of other Peruvian restaurants. If that wasn’t enough negative points, the staff is horrible, rude and extremely unprofessional and inattentive. All in all, the bad food, the unsanitary conditions and the horrible wait staff make this the absolute worst restaurant I’ve visited in the world and the worst experience I’ve ever had in any restaurant in my culinary life. Do not make the mistake of visiting this place. Do not support places like this. Skip it! Spend your money and your vacation elsewhere in Austin. The city has a lot of much better options.
The food is always amazing with family feel.
We ordered the anticuchos (marinated beef heart) and tiradito (a ceviche marinated style fish) for lunch today. Both dishes were fantastic!
