Originally was trying next door for Chili's but no one would wait on us so walked to this place. Surprised it was a Vietnamese restaurant. Mistook it for a French place! What I ordered was damn good. If you think you can't handle Brussel sprouts try theirs. You'll want seconds! Highly recommend this place. There is passion in the flavor of their dishes! Er, bowls.
Ordered an OG Bahn Mi (usually order the regular pork Banh Mi sandwich). Couldn’t take more than one bite. It had chunks of rare meat. I called La Bleu and was told to come back. I asked if that was normal to have uncooked pork in the sandwich? To my surprise, I was told yes. That was What head Cheese is. I looked into it and haven’t found a single thing saying it’s supposed to be served uncooked. The person answering my questions persisted that’s how it is. Offered no remedy.
Lovely food, pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed every dish. Authentic taste and eye pleasing.
Le Bleu never disappoints! Surprised more folks dont know about this gem. Always fresh and delicious. Favorites are the ban xeo and the thai chile mango margarita.
Not worth your money! I'm not only disappointed I'm actually pretty angry. I know they have been making changes and so their chicken pho isn't the same but to be so cheap with noodles?!?!?! We received a quarter of the amount of noodles any actual pho place provide. Actually they put the small amount of noodles they did provide on top of a mountain of bean sprouts to look like they gave us enough which is just the worst thing to do. Not only that but the octopus skewers used to bring 4 sticks with multiple octupus on it and this time we got three sticks with only one octopus in each stick. We will never eat here again. Obviously not worth the money and whatever they are doing is just driving the quantity, quality, and taste down.
This place is a hidden gem of North Austin restaurants.Excellent Vietnamese food at a very reasonable price. The cocktails were excellent and they have a great whiskey selection. Will definitely be coming back.

Finally! The perfect pork banh mi. Mmm I've been numerous times in a short time because I missed a perfect banh mi for years after moving to Austin. :) Absolutely thrilled.
Excellence in Vietnamese Food...This isn't one of those places where you are going to find a menu a mile long - it's limited (pho, banh mi, bun, and a few dinner thingies. oh, and appetizers), but what there is is all *excellent*. Like, *seriously* excellent - the kind that you keep coming back to because it's just that good.Add in some excellent cocktails, beer, and wine, and the result is that if the booths/tables were a bit more comfortable, you'd probably end up spending the best part of an afternoon/evening here...(Oh, I should mention, very friendly staff, who are always eager to help...)
Best Vietnamese spot in Austin hands down. don't take my word for it, go there! I could not find a banh mi in Austin that did the bread correctly and they nail it! Fresh ingredients everytime. fresh bread on my banh mi everytime. The broth in their pho is amazing. And they are relatively undiscovered right now which means no wait for a table...yet :)
