The headline I guess says it all. I was reading the reviews before going there and perhaps set my expectations too high. But whoever serviced us must have had a bad day too. The ice-cream place across the 1st street (Dolce Neve Gelato) was a much better experience (including very good espresso).

This is a cute pop up pastry shop close to “welcome to Austin” mural. The lady who runs this place is such a delightful person to talk to. This place is known for its macaroons but since I’m not a big macaron person, I went for the croissants and boy were they good!! We took the chocolate almond and pistachio croissant and the Opera cake. The croissant ? were the show stoppers for sure!

This place is adorable! From the owner’s story, to Stephanie who chatted with us as we picked out our macaroons. This little shop has a lot to love! And the macaroons are to die for! Seriously my husband has never been a fan and once he tried these, he was obsessed ? we both are! Stopping by this place was the cherry on top of our trip from Chicago, we’re looking forward to visiting again soon!

While we were in Texas visiting family we stopped by the “Greetings from Austin” Mural to take some quick photos. We ended up spending a good while at La Pâtisserie which was just down the street. The pastries were great and the atmosphere cozy. It was pretty busy inside and appeared that the owner/operator was the only staff running the store. But despite being busy we were greeted and served pretty quickly. We sat outside in the nice morning weather drinking our coffee and eating our pastries, an assortment of muffins, cakes and croissants. The atmosphere was peaceful and felt separated from the noise of downtown. We left very satisfied. I would recommend stopping in if youre in the area.

Choc. Chip cookie just so so, nothing to rave about. However we tried 4 other pastries, and both choc and cinn croissant were very good. Scones yummy. Bite sized eclairs were great. Its not a budget friendly shop though. Be prepared to pay a fair amount for your tasty treats, but enjoy!!!

Being a tourist, I stumbled across here while snapping a pic of the Austin mural. Very cute shop, with plenty of charm. I came in and got a coffee which was nice and strong, and some macaroons for later. I forgot about the macaroons and didn’t eat them until the next day but they were still delicious. Hadn’t dried out at all and were full of flavor. I highly recommend stopping in to get to your fix while you are in the area.

Came in for a quick snack, and it was amazing! I decided to get a 4 pack of maroons. Each one was really good. She threw in an extra blue raspberry because they came out small. I was surprised when she put another in my box! ? If your a fan of anything scented lavender, then you need to try the lavender maroon! The barista was super nice. Come check it out. We didn’t see this place until we walked by it trying to get to the Austin mural.

Could not have been happier with our custom order for 160 koala + kangaroo inspired macaroons. The team exceeded our expectations and they were a hit at our event. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back for more.

Perfect sweet treat while in Austin.
