Came early on a Sunday. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating. Good food and good drinks. I would love more air conditioned indoor space because it was pretty hot by 1230 in the shade with misters! Fries were perfect. The pretzel was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Bratwurst was good. I'd probably pass on the German potato salad next time.
*Southeast corner of Springdale and 5th Street in East Austin, a pleasant surprise nestled with other clubs and restaurants next door to each other ... Large outdoor areas . Picnic tables, dj, outdoor food and beer service, indoor ac bar with the beer vats ... old neighborhood being "gentrified" ... onsite parking monitored, street parking...Microbrewery on site in plain view and serve pizza and hot dogs and other foods .. appropriate prices .... Nice French cuisine restaurant across the way (+).
This is definitely a cool place that is very chill to hang with friends. The weather was perfect to sit outside (kinda rare for Texas at this time). The menu was super straightforward. Food on one side and drinks on the other. I ordered the jalapeño cheddar venison bratwurst and it was delicious. The order of Belgian fries was decent and large enough for the table to share. We also ordered 2 orders of the potato pancakes and that was plenty for the 6 of us to share. If you like German beer, I recommend this place. I had a 32 Oz mug of the Oktoberfest. Next time I go, I will definitely get the famous glass boot to drink my beer. Will be going here again for sure!
After a long day of work this is the exact kind of place to come and enjoy a cool evening. There homemade beers are amazing. Since we went on an off day the staff was kind enough to let my and my friends have all the different sausages divided into three so we could try duck, rattle snake rabbit, elk, and just about everything they had.As a fun trick try their Hefeweizen with some coke. Try about a 70-30 ratio.
What a great place! Came for a company party and loved the vibe.Normally not a fan of wurst or sausage but the curry wurst blew me away! The staff is so nice and attentive. I highly recommend getting a Deep Eddy with sprite - it was my drink of the day!
Overall I had a good experience here. The house beer was gluten free enough that my partner who has celiac disease (but she’s okay with cross contamination) to be able to drink the beers without any issues. She also was able to eat the Currywurst plate with fries - no gluten issues! The food was good, but it didn’t seem like there much much “venison” in my sausage; it just tasted like pork. Also, I’m not a fan of 12oz beers at a bar. 16oz (American pint) is already smaller than our European counterparts, why make them even smaller?Everything tasted great and the service was wonderful - but I think the beers are overpriced (or undersized) compared to other bars in the area.
Very nice spot. Good amount of seating outside & indoors. Parking was rough but it’s expected on a Saturday. The Kolsch was very light and refreshing. We tried the Belgian fries & an elk brat. Fries were my fav!
Delirium on tap! Plus a lot of other great German beers on tap. They have a ton of outdoor seating, so it'll be great for warm Austin weather. Plus you can make any beer a radler for $1 more. They have exotic meat brats (try the rabbit and rattlesnake one) and they tasted great.
Good food good beer good vibe. Very dog friendly. Only complaint the parking lot was super full, took us a while to find a spot across street.
We went here after flag football for a couple of cheeky pints and some Bavarian style sausages.Great place for dogs and just relaxing on the patio on a warm day.The food and drinks were good. However, the service was slow and prices were a bit high for what you got. This is still a fairly new restaurant/ brewery so There are still trying to work out the kinks.Good overall with
