Tastiest BEST baguette, an enjoyable chewy texture of soft inside and crusty outside. Savory and creamy BEST scrambled eggs in a soft and flavorful croissant sandwich. Super yummy spinach and feta pastry, but all of her savory pastries are delicious! Sweet pastries galore with full flavor combinations. Yes to their cookies. And more! I can’t recommend Julie Myrtille’s bakery enough! Her brick and mortar storefront located in a lovely, well designed little shopping center (with Zhi Tea, which is my next fav spot). Also present at 6 different Farmers Markets. Baguette is my #1 recommendation!
I found Julie Myrtille’s Bakery by chance coming from Austin’s International Airport. Each of these goodies in the box tastes soft, flaky, delicious and all the goodness of an authentic French pastry which I love about this bakery! I’m a croissant lover, and these satisfy my craving. I bought some goods for my friends and family so they can enjoy them too. For sure, I’ll be a regular customer here.
We bought baked goods from this bakery at the farmers market for the first time. I have to say they are AMAZING!! The staff was so friendly and the baked goods are the best I’ve ever had! The chocolate croissant, baguette and cinnamon roll was so delicious! We will definitely be back soon and would definitely recommend them without a doubt!! ❤️❤️
First time visiting! Arrived early afternoon, not very many pastries left. I did try the butter croissant and it was delicious. I also got Madeleine's. They were sold in 3's and quite large. They did have alot of flavor. The little bakery was a little pricey!
Not only does Julie Myrtille have killer pastries, she is super customer service oriented. My group wanted to come to the Bakery as one of our coffee house events. I asked Julie if she could reserve us some space on the day we came. When I arrived she had reserved a great table to allow for conversation and had it looking lovely with the small bud vase and rose. Great coffee, heavenly pastries, and an owner invested in quality customer service, Thanks, Julie!!!
My two most favorite items! The almond croissant is the best I’ve even had, and I try a lot of almond croissants. Decadent! The plain croissants are also delicious if you aren’t looking for something sweet. Now, the “king cake” (gallette de rois) is only offered in January. It’s amazing! Definitely try it when you can! This place is delicious and accessible! Try it!
Do NOT order macarons. This bakery claims to be French, so we ordered a sleeve of macarons. They were entirely hollow -- and worse, when we asked the barista, they told us that macarons are **supposed to be hollow** (spoiler: they're not; the chew is half the point of macarons). So this place isn't just bad at macarons, they're bad and they think they're good, which suggests it wasn't a one-off bad experience. Carrot cake was very good though, so giving 2 stars instead of 1.
Julie Myrtille is my favorite vendor at the Downtown Farmer's Market. The first time I tried an almond croissant, I was in tears it was so good. Baquettes are the best. Chocolate chip cookies are heavenly. Tried the spinach croissant last week - perfection. Best bakery in Austin. Charming location on Springdale.
Drove halfway across town (30+ minutes each way) to get some pastries this Friday morning. Arrived around 8:50am and they had no pastries ready. We got some coffee next door while we waited and were able to at least get two things (butter and chocolate croissants), but we had purposely driven over to buy a box of almond croissants. They said those would not be ready until closer to noon! I don't know why they say they open at 8:30am when they're not actually ready to serve anything at that time. Pretty bummed.
Such a charming walk up bakeshop. Love this new area of Springdale. Tons of parking and shared seating with other businesses, you're drawn into this place because of it's bright colors and well manicured pastry displays. My go to is a pastry, coffee and a baguette to take home (partner wouldn't be happy if I missed our on that one).Would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
