I came down from Lubbock to see a friend and came in Monday afternoon for lunch. I had the fish and chips special, made with haddock, and my friend had the chicken fried steak with their poblano cheddar grits.We both agreed that it was the best we ever had of every single dish we tasted. So impressive!Service was not overly attentive but friendly and fun. We had a great time and the food is excellent. Definitely worth your visit
So thankful my partner and I stumbled upon this restaurant, especially because we made it just in time for dinner! I was surprised to see such a quality food and drink menu given its a bar and grill. I expected mainly burgers which they do have a great selection of, but there are equally as many options of quality entrees as well. They have a homemade alfredo pasta dish with gluten free spaghetti and lentil balls that I really wanted to try but I went for the Sriracha Shrimp with Pesto Alfredo and grilled bread and it did not disappoint! My partner got the Roasted Chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We also shared their house avocado fried french fries and mac n cheese as starters and that was also so tasty!For drinks, I got a French 75 and my partner got the Reposado Old Fashion. Our server Simon was so professional and speedy with all of the courses! He was also very helpful making suggestions of what to try and every course was fantastic. I really appreciated his patience as well allowing us to experience a full meal given they were closing and gave us to-go materials as we started getting full so we could easily wrap up. I did notice too there is a great variety of food options for vegetarians, GF, and pescatarians such as myself so that is a huge plus! This meal was the saving grace to a VERY long day of traveling and I would definitely go back again!
I had a terrible experience last night at my neighborhood favorite. The manager was rude upon entering to us and several guests. He proceeded to act flustered the entire night and was unpleasant, constantly telling patrons they were “short staffed”. The wait time was an hour for food. Others around us who came later were served sooner. Waiter was not as attentive as could have been. Food was ok - I’d have happily gone home if we’d not been dining to meet out of state friends who love this place. Some months back our neighbors even said this place was terrible and I argued otherwise. I think her experience plus mine cancels it’s past life before Covid-19 ran its prices way up and quality/services out.
A few friends and I stopped here just after flying in for a few days. The weather was perfect to sit outside and relax. The staff was very attentive, helpful and quick. We chose the pancake battered french fries for an appetizer which was very tasty but I think we should have ordered the small as it made it difficult to finish the rest of our meals. I opted for the meatloaf, mac and cheese and mashed potatoes which were very satisfying. My companions had the chicken fried steak and the chicken fried chicken which they said were also great.Overall great location, good food, friendly staff. ?
Great hidden gem just north of downtown. The atmosphere was very relaxed and casual yet formal enough for a date night. Great happy hour specials and the food was outstanding.

To be able to sit outside and away from the downtown SXSW madness was enjoyable. The service was satisfactory, the burger and linguini ok, but the negoni and Hyde Park fries are worth a return for happy hour.
So disappointing. Lovely service, nice ambiance. Terrible food. Got the burger medium rare, came well done, soggy, flavorless. Partner got the fish which was terrible. We’ve been here before and it was good… so we just ate what we could and left. Maybe they’re having an off night. It was like very cheap diner food. Even the fries were lukewarm and tasted sortve stale. Everything with the fish was covered in bright yellow cheddar cheese and the grits were cold.

The fries were amazing, the cake was even better. The macaroni and cheese was not as great/didn’t have breadcrumbs as described, but it was still good. Tyler was a great server!
